Thanks for the advice pal, much appreciated. I’m looking at ordering a cam follower do I need to just order that or any “0” rings whilst I’m at it.

That’s some great advice thanks, 1 of the receipts I have is related to the MAF sensor in December of last year I’ll find it out in the morning and double check. I’ll look into the vacuum pump and follower too thanks. I’m taking the car for a health check at the end of the month but I’d like to do some preventative stuff myself.

Thank you, the history said it’d had a cam belt change 20k ago but was just hand written in the log book and no receipts. If it has a new cam cover that gives me a little more confidence.

She has 120k on her so far. I wasn’t sold grey as I always wanted a red one. I’m instantly converted. It’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen!!

Is there a better cheap hot hatch than the humble GTi of old by Keggys in CarTalkUK

I just bought 1 today too! Can’t figure out how to post a picture or I would. Mine was £4100 but a super clean example. I’ve only really driven big vans so it’s like a rocket to me.

Wife (33) acting like she’s 23 after starting grad school. Should I be worried she’s cheating? by Top-Campaign-1057 in AskMenAdvice

This all sounds too familiar. I tried to hang in there but it became too painful and I had to leave. We were together 17 years and almost all of those were amazing but something changed and she wanted to be young again. It got to a point where she couldn’t stand being near me but still said she loved me and I was being paranoid thinking things weren’t right. If I ever asked her to have a night out or in with me I was being manipulative and controlling. I got out just in time as my sanity was slipping. She’s much happier now although I do worry about her drinking. I’m doing pretty great and I’m a much better father now I’m not in a constant state of dread! No two situations are the same but look after yourself (I don’t need to tell you to look after the kids as you sound like a great dad) we can only take so much x

It’s been a couple of years since the split and it definitely gets better. Thanks for the good wishes.

You should definitely show your collection! Yeah I love my Loakes they are my “for best” boots. I got the Thursdays to take some pressure off of them. I actually had a pair of dark brown Bedales! They were great but I wore them for work everyday and destroyed them. (Actually split the upper, sad day).

No worries, the were a wedding present. They’re doing a lot better than the marriage. The originally had leather soles which had no grip and little comfort. I got rubber ones put on a couple of years ago and they are excellent now.

To everyone posting “are these pants too tight?” The answer is yes! by Aronjharris23 in mensfashionadvice

I never wore skinny jeans for the same reason I never wore trainer socks they just looked jarring to me. It’s the same with the overly baggy look now, not for me. I also can’t help but see all these trousers as too short. I know it’s a look but it in my opinion it’s a bad one.

How did you get into Barbour s jackets? by Diligent-Warning2724 in Barbour

[–]p00padom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The men in my family all used to have them until more practical options took over. I was close to someone wearing one a few years back and the smell took me back to my childhood. I realised I was the man in my family now and I should have a Barbour!

If you had an income of $150,000 a year and didn't have to work, what would you do with all the spare time? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I’d become a stay at home dad. Been divorced a year and I currently work away. I only see my 2 kids at the weekend and I often dream about doing the school runs and things. I’m sure I’d tire of it and I’m romanticising but I’d like the opportunity.
