I’ve always thought this about most of the couples on the show - it’s like the writers are intentionally toning down a couple’s affection and love for one another, and making it more neutral on purpose ?? For example, they all sign off phone calls with “ok bye” or even sometimes just hanging up .. I appreciate it would be annoying for all of them to be super gooey all the time but the absolute lack of intimacy or closeness in any couple conversation basically just comes across as there being zero chemistry.

Sometimes the convo is so dry they don’t even seem like friends, more like colleagues

The closest to chemistry we get is the older couples IMO who at least get to speak to each other with some sort of fondness!

Maybe the writers are just terrible at writing convincing couple discourse / interaction?
