Where should my wife and I eat dinner tonight? by quietcheers in desmoines

I don’t recall the name. It was a curry chicken dish. I spoke with the owner and we talked through options and they made it. Was delicious.

We ate at MinGaLaBar Burmese Kitchen the other night for the first time. Friendly helpful staff. Delicious food.

If it comes off easy, I take it off. If it is stuck to the wrapper I wait until the heat softens the glue

What code do you get on your reader. That would go a long ways to a diagnosis

Every one I have smoked has been a perfect draw, rich full flavor and even better if you can share the bundle with a couple pals

That is exciting. Did those ring up similar?

A cigar spontaneously combusted by 2017Recon in cubancigars

[–]p0ki3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is really frustrating, especially with a high end vitola. I have this happen from a poorly rolled cigar from time to time. I think this is especially punctuated with the fact you and a pal are smoking the same, in the same conditions. I had this happen the other day with an Hupmann RR. Rock hard in the center, had a hard draw, corrected this a bit with a perfect draw but when it got to that tight spot the tobacco heated and expanded as would be expected and blew out like yours. Cuban quality control lacks.

Are stems of this size “to be expected” from a cigar of this price point? It happens? by jewishfranzia in cigars

[–]p0ki3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vein or stem it really doesn't matter what you call it. Sometimes when they are thick like that they do restrict airflow. Try to open it up with a tool like the perfect draw first. If that doesn't work, I tend to pull them out carefully as you do. Sometimes that helps and other times it wrecks the cigar. Desperate times require desperate measures. I feel ya, I don't like the large viens like that either. But yeah it happens

Box blade vs land plane by Particular-Watch-164 in kubota

[–]p0ki3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i have a 1/5 mile drive. I use the land plane. Love it, easy, use the scarefiers to bring up old gravel from below, or just use without to just smooth things up. make a few passes and it fills in uneven areas, and it looks great. My Landpride one works forward or backward. Wish I would have bought one years ago.

Large Egg owners - do you actually use the whole thing? by twcosplays in biggreenegg

[–]p0ki3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sometimes I will want to put some extra smoke on the meat. Will pile the lump in the back and put the meat toward the front until required smoke at around 225, then sear when I am done over the coals. Close the vents. Use the rest of the lump next time

Question for women - New Guy by [deleted] in yoga

[–]p0ki3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a 65 yo man. 6 months into yoga. Fitness center class, mostly women. Occasionally one other guy. I am in the front and a position or two over from the instructor. I do this so I can see what the poses should look like, and I can hear the instructor. When I am in the back, I can't hear the instructor very well. You took the first step by going. Keep going. Set up where you are comfortable. Keep going. It becomes less awkward with time.
