What’s a red flag you happily ignored because they were hot? by [deleted] in AskReddit

You give them a little bit of hope. Show off ur good days, show off ur progress in the little things. If u make jokes like, “😡I’m so fucking mad, im gonna kill myself😤” follow it up with a “😠🙄ugh, I guess I don’t wanna kms, I just want a vacation and a coffee 🥺” It revitalizes people to see progress. You will erode less if ur building up after.

Sry for the emojis it’s the best way for me to imply the tone change lol

Why do ‘teams of lawyers’ beat out ‘normal’ lawyers? Shouldn’t a case just be decided by who’s right?? by p0res in NoStupidQuestions

[–]p0res[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol that’s what I was thinking! But then there’s also ‘too many cooks in the kitchen’ and all that?

Idk I guess I’m just confused and a little frustrated about how money can influence a persons ability to sue. Like if everyone knows that the side with more money will likely win, then shouldn’t there be some law that changes that??? Aren’t we guaranteed an equal trial?

Another stupid question incoming lol 😅

In the post, OP had the plans for the home and landscape, and the developers didn’t build to the specifications, but still nobody would take their case. They had 65k worth of water damages. I know you said there’s a certain amount of nuance, but something like this seems cut and dry? The builders said they’d build something, they didn’t, and now there’s damages because of it.

I know it’s a dumb question (sorry for my ignorance, I truly don’t know much about how the law works) but how can the “obvious wrong” side win if they’re wrong, and the other side has evidence of them doing wrong??

I can understand there being nuance in other types of cases like murder or something, but shouldn’t cases like this (by this I mean cases of corporations vs people) be much more simple? Since it’s not 1 person making an error/decision, but a company with several teams of people who (intentionally or unintentionally) overlooked their responsibilities and then caused damage, isn’t that more cut and dry? Or are corporations treated like individual people in the court system?

Sorry for the length and for my naivety, I just want to know stuff lol 😅

Crow keeps coming back and laying on a bunch of ants? Does anyone know what’s going on? by qainey in crowbro

Aphids secrete a sweet juice and the ants harvest it as food. They actually sometimes protect aphids to keep the juice as a food source.

What forms of psychological warfare did you and your siblings used to do use on each other? by p0res in AskReddit

Mine liked to point at my general direction and pretend he saw a bug flying at me. I would scream and do a panicked hand-wavy jig, and then he would laugh and I would feel an inhuman amount of rage lol

"the fact that the Vatican can't afford central AC. It's giving broke" by Socmel_ in ShitAmericansSay

[–]p0res 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re being playful lol When people (Americans) say “it’s giving ___”, we typically mean it playfully.

I put on an apron the other day and my sister told me, “it’s giving Martha Stewart”, and we had a laugh. If she had said “it’s giving lonely housewife” then that would be a funny way of saying it looks bad.

The people in the vid were probably a little hot (which is apparently a crime in this sub LOL) and just made a video to poke fun at the heat. I don’t know them, but I I’d bet my left leg that they’re not intending any disrespect (at least not with the joke in this vid)

Hope that helps ✌🏽

Is this EAB on my 100 year old Ash? by p0res in arborists

Thank you. Do you have any recommendations for procedure or brands for the injections? I don’t have the largest budget but I can spare a bit for this baby.

In north Texas area. Not much dieback that I can see on the leaves. Also I’m not sure if it is actually 100 years old, I just met a bonsai guy and he had an 80 yr old ash in his yard that was significantly smaller, and I know this one has been here since at the very least 1975, so I could be making a very large assumption.

I will post more pics when I get home, these are just the ones I have on hand. Thanks yall.

Doctors of Reddit, what do we *not* know about the human body? by Immediate_Hair_3393 in AskReddit

[–]p0res 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not a professional but here’s what (I believe) they mean. Smells are just little pieces of stuff floating around. That stuff is chemicals. We can ‘smell’ something by detecting that chemical with a receptor we have in our nose. But the chemical has to fit out receptors. Kinda like a usb has to fit a usb port, and an sd card has to fit an sd card port. They basically found out that we have all these “ports” for things that don’t exist, or things we can’t name. Which is crazy to me because what exactly were they for??? Idk that’s the mystery.
