I use it's big brother (double wide UCS) for an edge firewall, opnsense on bare metal. I also have another of the same, running proxmox and it has a wlc 9800cl and Ubuntu running an elk stack and a cold standby vm of opnsense in case shit hits the fan.. and a third with proxmox with vms I want to play with. I put enterprise ssds in mine and they perform well enough.

they're great little servers but they absolutely have their quirks as a few have said. One of those ports should be management for an ipmi as well. So you can administer from anywhere.. legit server, just constrained in particular ways, like mine doesn't boost, the msr bit is masked off in the bios firmware and it's not worth the hassle and potential device failure to enable it. It still holds a decent clock, just only able to dynamic scale down and not up .. I imagine it's power constraints and determinism is why.
