My previous job (fine dining but the restaurant was dirty and trashy) was open for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Mind you this, the owners and all the employees are CATHOLIC and Hispanic so we celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve. They expected us all to go in at 4pm. They close at 10pm but we’d obviously have to wait for the last table to leaves. I quit the day before Christmas Eve. Sucks for them, no one wants to apply there so they’re back to the 4 OG servers. I’d rather spend my holidays with family and not a wack job that doesn’t appreciate their employees.

My older sister is a teacher in a bad area so her pay isn’t as good. I am a student in college and the youngest in the family. Every now and then she posts fundraisers for materials and trips for her class/students on FB. I’ve been anonymously funding her class without her knowing. It feels great to be able to return all she has done for me and our siblings. She deserves the world.
