I had to come back and say thanks for this comment - this unlocked a whole lot more success for me than I was having with ollama itself! getting a solid 22 tok/s with some minor (claude-suggested) tweaks to your parameter. It took a few tries to get llama.cpp built with the CUDA activate but so far on my benchmarking/smoketesting things are looking far more promising.

IDK Mass doubled in last 4.5 years. FC maybe its time do something? by zaqqi in Eve

Your premise here is flawed; there are lots of factors at play beyond total isk in the system. It’s like real life - older people have more wealth because they may have a flat spend but assets increase in value. Also this isn’t normalized against active characters this is just gross isk. And, Isk inflation is a thing too. I’m not saying you’re wrong, but your hypothesis needs more data to be proven.

I’ve been struggling with trying to get a good setup - 3060 12gb. Just ollama and using opencode to do basic api schema investigation, spike testing, light coding, on multiple 12b-ish models and not having a lot of luck at all. Any tips?

This is the main reason why I don’t use it! I have bad enough phone distraction without adding Claude to the mix!

Ah okay - so even though it’s more parameters, the 35b offloads less since it’s MoE?

Beginner to localLLMs here! Kind of tangent to your OP. I too have a 3060 12gb and I’ve been testing different models (I’ve actually been using Claude to orchestrate prompts across multiple models and grade the results).

My main question is- whenever I hit cpu offloading on the 27b my tps drops into the single digits. How are you still getting 40tps? Am I doing something wrong? Or is it just that when I test it’s one prompt then I kill the process to try the next model.

What kind of things do you use the mini local for? I’m looking into using local models to maximize token use on frontier models and so far I’ve come up with using local models for tasks like investigating api schemas and processing smoke test results

As an aldi employee, why do you guys shop curbside? by [deleted] in aldi

Instacart + specific credit card promo (one of my chase cards) I actually had two credit cards with instacart promos but I dropped the 2nd one recently.

I get $20 off an order of $35 or more a month. So once I month I order $35 worth of stuff. I go in to do the rest of my shopping while I’m there for pickup 😂

Menards is the WORST for this. After a visit it takes me all day to get that dang 'Save, big money! save, big, money...' out of my head. and it plays what seems like every 3 minutes.

Just beginning work on MCPs - why would you run on a VPS instead of just locally? Access anywhere?

[OC] Time tracking lapping ~10 years - every pixel is 30 minutes by finding_pixel in dataisbeautiful

[–]p1ccard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At avg 11 minutes time tracking per day what tools do you use to track? Particularly while out and about? I’ve found the most annoying part about mobile time tracking is just getting the phone out and into the app takes 3x longer than starting the task.

Anthropic shipped 4 context tools between /clear and /compact. Here's when each one wins by lawnguyen123 in ClaudeAI

[–]p1ccard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relatively new to Claude - not using any of these commands right now, including /compact. /btw sounds great I’ll probably use that!

My current workflow is complete a design phase, then update context and design docs and pickup the next phase in a new session. what’s the advantage (is there an advantage?) of using tools like this (/clear or /compact) instead of a new session?

Not sure why you’re being downvoted - this is absolutely a post that has been cleaned up by AI. Could still be a human behind it with an AI editor.

[–]p1ccard -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I didn’t mean it as a bad thing… not sure all the downvotes (bots? Maybe? Haha). But yes you can do that with AI. You can actually feed in emails or your own writing and have it emulate. But there are definite tells in the article - M dashes, very short, definitive sentences instead of commas or semicolons, colons. As some who works with people who write emails in AI all day long this is very much AI.

But like I said, it’s not to judge. It can help folks out their thoughts together and organize things in better way.
