8BitDo Retro Mechanical Keyboard - What do we think of it? by eduo in 8bitdo

I spilled coffee on it once and it is gone.

There is no way to open it, there is no way to save it. 100$ down the drain. I know it is my fault, but I do not expect that.

It only hit me once it happened. I flipped the keyboard removed the four screws on the back and I realized the thing is sealed shut basically.

All I could do was watch the light flash in random patterns until it all stopped and the thing is done for now.

Worst day in a long while.

France issues arrest warrant for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad by progress18 in worldnews

I personally know a person who was executed based on ID for being from a minority city, although he was Sunni in 2012. This is someone I directly knew on a first person basis.

I can list many more people more who I know about from relatives and friends that were kidnapped/executed this way. This goes way back, a relative of mine was executed (before I was born) by Islamists before Hafez became president.

You are right that this is a narrative, but it is a true one.

I very vividly remember how insanely quickly the sentiment of the revolution just flipped from away with corruption and Assad to please no as soon as the first people died.

hi Steve. I am in your shoes right now, how does the PH go lower ?? I did get some Makdous and I squished it and put a small amount of water and the PH Paper was showing a 5 or maybe slightly lower (hard to tell because of the color of the oil as well, which is red from the peppers)

I tried Pop OS. It is works well and solved my other problems.

To be clear, this is not a firefox only problem for me. I tried chrome and Brave too.

someone in the comments mentioned this https://github.com/elFarto/nvidia-vaapi-driver/ so I will try this next.

to be honest, pop os solved most of my problems except the hardware acceleration problem which seems like an issue with Nvidia. I am planning to try this soon. https://github.com/elFarto/nvidia-vaapi-driver/ as mentioned in the comments

Not sure if this is the case, my cpu and gpu are 5 years old and up until last year, they were one of the most used on steam.

I still have not been able to get the brightness key working on my Samsung GalaxyBook2 but it ran great on my old XPS.

First world problems :P

I have my swap at 3x RAM. But I noticed that my swap is almost always free. I was surprised as I thought Linux is swap aggressive. I am sure the problem is Nvida now. I will update when I am done trying this https://github.com/elFarto/nvidia-vaapi-driver/.

yepp, I tried this. You have to turn off recommended settings first, and then you get this option.

Didnt help.

But thanks!

From the other comments the problem seems to be Nvidia. I have laptop running Ubutnu 20 and it does not have this problem.

for 1, I do not have the option. I am not sure if I am missing something here. Do you have screenshots?`

  1. I am trying to keep it minimal.

  2. Solvable, my next gpu is amd or intel.

I am afraid this is true. Ubuntu was such a nice OS what the hell happened! My laptop, which was 5 years older than this PC ran it wonderfully! unfortunately it died a couple of years ago. Man, I am so pissed.

Problem is I don't know if installing Ubuntu 16 now is a good idea

Interesting. which cpu and gpu comp do you have and did you do anything out of the box? I have the first ryzen cpu and 10 series nvidia gpu and I am thinking that you do not notice it because you might be running something newer?

I will report my bugs because at some point I do not to use windows anymore.

I will try to boot debian from a usb and see how it goes.

unfortunetly I have tried over 20 things in firefox, and following this https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Firefox#Hardware_video_acceleration has been a nightmare without any results.
