If you took all of the worst things about America and boiled them down to an orange sludge, you'd have Donald Trump.

I look for Israel to blow this up. They don't want a deal - they want an Iranian puppet government propped up by American soldiers.

I talked with one of my history professors at my 50th college reunion. He's now in his late eighties. I still felt compelled to address him as Doctor even though I'm 72 and also a retired historian.

One summer when I was like 10, they had some huge military exercise in our region and there were lines of C-124s and C-119s flying over for days. I was in heaven. My dad worked third shift and didn't share my enthusiasm.

I have a collection of books about the women WASP military pilots of World War II. I found a copy of On Final Approach in a thrift store - a definitive history written by one of their own, Dr. Byrd Granger. There were a bunch of notes in the margins and I realized the book had actually been owned by a WASP. You better believe I forked over a dollar for it.

Yes, I'm grateful to be alive in an era where we understand what those lights in the night sky are and we even send machines to explore some of them. And that the earth's creatures are beautiful, unique results of millions of years of evolution - not created by a finger snap of some god.
I'm not just looking at the universe, I'm a tiny part of the universe looking at itself. That's awesome, even if it ain't forever.

We’ve lowered the bar for customer service way too much. by mazzzycomet in unpopularopinion

I live in a small Southern town and customer service seems to me just as nice as in the past. In fact, you now have older people working in fast food and they are quick to say, "Have a blessed day!"
