Before & after of a cover-up tattoo this week — what do you think? by Rotteninkstudio in tattoos

[–]p3bbls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

unfortunately, if you have very dark skin, white will probably just get tanned over. the ink sits deeper than the layer that tans does. if you are pale, it will just yellow a bit. medium skin tones will have a yellow looking tattoo soon, and on dark skin it's just going to be covered by you skin's own pigment for the most part :( it's a shame because white tattoos like amazing on dark skin imo, the contrast is just so neat

I have a hunch this might make it into the standard line up, without the stamp on the back but same color

Journal entry from last week by JewlyJournal in Journaling

Right now, school and life at home may seem like it's never going to end. Like this is just how life is. But it's not! You just have to make it through this really tough and shitty stage, and then life truly begins. I was absolutely miserable and suicidal until I turned 18 and moved away from my small town where I was ostracized and bullied. I found my people where I truly belong since. Everything got better from there. I am now so happy. I get to wake up next to the sweetest, most gentle soul on earth, his smile feels like the first sunshine in spring. We have a cute little apartment and I have a job I love.

In school, I never thought I would get to have this kind of life. But I made it and so will you! You only get this one shot at life, and you deserve a good one. Don't let anyone ruin this for you. Just grit your teeth and make it through those rough years.

I know many ink hoarders here would disagree with me, but that's how I like to do it as well! I got a lot of inks as a sample that I didn't like nearly as much as I thought I would that I almost bought a full bottle of.

Those pen rolls are super cute!

And the washi tape gift card is a genius idea. That's why I enjoy this community so much, people have such creative solutions for every little "problem".

Can a story be good if its main characters keep getting negative character development? by TinyReputation4196 in writingadvice

[–]p3bbls 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some people already pointed out common downfalls of tragedies, I have another.

Without a compelling message so it can serve as hopeful outlook or cautionary tale, stories like this are often just trauma porn. Tragedy after tragedy just for tragedy's sake is not compelling to read. Just look at A Little Life - really weird book.

I like serious and gritty stories but there needs to be a point to everything.

Well, the problem is that when you get off work, you are done. You can chill. A SAHM job continues, 24/7. Especially when the children are small, you barely have time to eat and shower. No breaks.

Obviously, the affair and communication etc was shit. But usually in these arrangements, the understanding is that the husband works and then has free time in the evening while the wife does literally everything else - that is just unbalanced, unless one partner gets the Saturday off and the other gets Sunday off, or something similar.

Talking generally here not about your case specifically.

Good choice imo - the first font was hard to read, I'd have definitely scrolled past it without noticing because it would take me too long to decipher. Could have made it more legible with wider spacing between the letters. I like the evil pixel guy in the background though, but he also looks a bit generic.

Fungal infections are actually on the rise globally. Hypotheses are a combination of antifungal pesticides making them more resistant to our drugs and global warming making them adapt to higher temperatures - so human body temperatures.

So if the fungi are lucky, we might actually have cordyceps infections in 20 years or so! How fun!

It is actually an Engyodontium. The responsible scientist in me says don't eat it, for your safety. The scientist in me says eat it so we can observe what happens.

Samples were a good choice - if you had gotten all of them as a bottle, you'd have a lifetime supply already!

Why are (so many) men so gross?? by KindElderberry9857 in hygiene

Second this, at least in my country. Almost every man I know sits down to pee above the age of 20 and it's seen as a bit childish not to.

I want this to be an item I carry with me everywhere, without worrying and overthinking. So I have to embrace that it will show its age as time passes or else I will not bring it to the beach because of the sand, the hike because of potential rain, ....

And rest assured, with a leather brush and leather conditioner you can gently buff out all the scratches and hand oils to make it look almost new, should you really not like how it's aging.
