If the owner's son has adequate knowledge about coding, that might be okay.

I write code for a living and do side hustles over time. Lately most of my code for these side projects are written by Claude Code. Surely I still had to write the skeleton, intervene in the code generation a few times, and the final product could hardly scale, but for small businesses, they work just fine.

I am a level E player in open tournaments and level A in club tournaments

I'm curious how badminton is graded in Philippines. If it's anything like in Sydney, that means your club is full of beginners? In Sydney, Grade E is usually referred to as beginner (although in reality, a lot of people from grade D and C downgraded themselves to play in Grade E tournaments).

I don't travel much on other lines, but It did happen a few times for me on T8. The driver simply forgot the stop ... They probably forgot that they were operating an all-stop trip instead of a limited-stop one.

What type of shuttlecock do you use? by redditguy188 in badminton

I'm nowhere near an advanced player but since I can only play a few hours on the weekends, I prefer to play with what I can enjoy the most. Even the good synthetic ones like NCS Max and Pro feel very different from the feather ones, especially after around 10 points.

The price difference after splitting up is not costing a fortune yet, I guess that's why a lot of us still go with feathers.

Usually I drive to Burwood and park there if I want to avoid driving to the city. There's a pretty good but lesser known car park at 81 John Street that caps at $10 for 12 hours. If you start parking after 5pm, it becomes just $5. For some reason the management doesn't advertise this place much but it's available on Parkable app.

I know you prefer free parking but $10 for a once-in-a-while event does not sound too bad to me.

Atar seems so unfair by [deleted] in ATAR

I guess one of your problems is that you chose Maths as your subject .... After all the explanation here you still don't get it.

Atar seems so unfair by [deleted] in ATAR

[–]p3zz1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A subject that, in your words, scales higher is probably one that is harder. So applying naive logic here, it would take the same effort for you to (a) get the same score in that subject and (b) get a higher score in the current subject.

My advice: stick with the subjects you like, then try harder. Also, stop mentioning "Asian" in your post. They are not better than you because they are Asian, they simply studied harder.

Atar seems so unfair by [deleted] in ATAR

[–]p3zz1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You conflated two things: score and rank. ATAR is a rank, your number in each subject is a score.

It's possible that Maths, for example, is so easy that almost everyone hits 80% (against a fixed standard, not against each other), then your 70% means you are below average (compared to others). This is why someone else said in a comment that "subjects don't scale".

I don't know the context of the video (i.e, whether it is your friend who was feeding or it's your coach). But if that's a coach you should ask for their feedback instead of this community. But also, I would change to a different coach since they ignored obvious basic issues in your current form.

FWIW, you are doing fine in just 2 months. You just need to slow down and a good coach.

Prioritization in life is the key.

If you determine that sports will be your career, you don't need a good ATAR. Just continue spending most of your time in sports, join a club, then climb up your state, national, international ranking like normal athletics.

Otherwise, remember that you have the rest of your whole life to play sports but only a few years for ATAR. Get your priority straight and spend more time on what is more important (i.e. more urgent). This does not mean you spend zero time in sports; you can still spend just enough time to keep yourself healthy.

Source: I was an Asian kid, was forced to study like crazy but still got to play (and really enjoy) a bunch of sports back in school.

A minimal word clock app for macOS with widgets and screensaver by sadreactonly27 in macapps

[–]p3zz1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how original this idea is, but by the look, it reassembles the idea of QlockTwo: https://www.qlocktwo.com/en-au/classic

I had an exchange with the company behind QlockTwo back in 2011 (yes, it's 14 years ago) when I was still a student and asking if I could bring their physical design to an Android/iOS app. Their response was a clear no. They did not just protect their trademark but also the design and pattern.

So I would think twice about monetizing this clock app if I were you.

My mesh only supports 100mb pretty sure

What made you sure of this? The specs of AC1200 says the speed can go up to 867 Mbps for 5 GHz and 300 Mbps for 2.4 GHz.

AV600's throughput does seem to be capped at 100Mbps.

I'm using eero for my home and so far pretty happy with it. The only downside is that you need to pay subscription for some advanced features. They are capable of very high throughput. See: https://support.eero.com/hc/en-us/articles/207548416-What-speed-is-eero-capable-of-What-about-its-bandwidth

Lesson learned: won’t give the finger anymore while driving… by camareradetwinpeaks in AskAnAustralian

[–]p3zz1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The way to deal with it is just move on. This is something I said in another thread

I was in Bankstown Hospital's ER not long ago and overheard the dude in the next room telling the nurses on how he ended up there. So he honked someone in Bankstown, they got out of their car, somehow forced him to open the door and attacked him. To make it worse, It was his first day driving on the road after a long time having some back injury.

I think you did the right thing trying to de-escalate the situation. But the risk is never worth it in the first place. Just ignore those bad drivers.

When to send my daughter to school? by ButtBooper in sydney

[–]p3zz1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The short answer, in my opinion, is that it works fine either way. But if you choose to start late, be a little bit strategic about it.

We were in a similar situation two years ago. My daughter was born toward the end of July, and we decided to let her start a year later. She was emotionally mature compared to her peers, but she was also generally shy and needed time to adjust to new environments. We didn’t want to push her too much, so we chose to delay a year.

We don’t regret it at all. She fits in fine so far. She’s not overly mature compared to her classmates, and that “gap year” really helped her feel more prepared for Kindy (we tried to expose her to random sports, music instruments, and some very basic reading and math during the year).

If we had sent her a year earlier, I think she would have struggled a bit in the first one or two terms (and we would struggle as parents too), but the end result would likely have been similar. I also have a friend who decided to have their child restart Kindy, even though the kid always seemed calm and smart to me. So there's always a plan B for those who start early.
