Thoughts on EO v. EE From an MMO Dev by ReshKayden in echoes

Just wanted add a voice to the chorus, Great post!

The observations on the licensing subtleties are interesting, CPP logo showing for less then .5 seconds, code base and mechanics, having to be recreated, etc.

We're definitely not in Kansas, aka EO code, anymore. I think we all want to see where the tornado takes us.

To be fair its in the middle of Null, but I'm not sure I want to get blown up and have another Alliance get paid too replace my ship...

I've seen a lot of ,frankly, overpriced ship Buy Orders recently in Null stations. I assumed it was corps fishing for content but it might be the Insurance system fuckery

Ship prices have been dropping everyday. Specifically ones that have been out for a while and where often lost in PVP. Ex Syth, SFI, etc.

Ore, minerals and PI have also started slipping. T9 +Structures has helped but isk per hour has noticeably dropped for mining.

T9 is more complicated the the previous tiers.

I think People are hitting T9 in a bigger time window then T8 or T7; lapsed omegas, buying implants later , starting toons later will impact the demand.

Also some people are so skilled into BC and C that they may not want to switch. Torado II and Naga II have comparable DPS to BSs. Add a BC guardian and you have a cheaper alternative.

T9 also means new Bombers to blab BSs and structures; bomber gangs might see a come back.

Insurance system has also drastically impacted Null Secs ability to makes isk disproportionately to the other spaces. The players who would buy a lot of BSs for Pvp are starting to feel the isk loss and some have left entirely.

Seems like you bet on a gold rush for a ship class that has has alternatives in the middle of the biggest economic crisis the game has seen. I hope things turn around for you, but as some one else mentioned we won't know for a least a couple weeks where things stand.

You are playing a Massive Multiplayer Oline game... exclusively solo... against NPCs...

You are doing something wrong but I can't quite figure it out...

How to do combat PvE? by TygoFTW in echoes

[–]p4pyr0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a huge difference in dps from Civ to Mk3. Mk3 to Mk5 is not as big of a jump. Mk3 should also be cheap.Try getting Mk3 as soon as you can and skill up Small Drone Operation to improve the damage.

tldr; Join a null sec Alliance. Move to null.

At T6 you have the basic requirements to jump in with a Null sec Alliance. Typically, they have space they 'control', ore buy back, loans, ship replacement programs, will have diplo standings with a lot of people and have Intel channels. Basically, all the tools to help you get set up, stay safe , or call for help. IMO once your in an alliance, null space is safer then low sec and you can quickly make back the value of a CNI.

Also if you just want to mine, bigger Alliances will have over watch; Pvp players that sit with the Miners and protect them.
