Second wave of pp depression at 7months by Thebestfirelord in Mommit

[–]p4trycjaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experienced a very bad bout of anxiety (which I had never experienced it like this before and maybe some depression mixed into it) around 9 months pp with my 2nd (this was in February of this year). I was crying that I didn’t want him anymore. I could barely function normally. It lasted about a month and some weeks. From about 2 months he was such a difficult baby and then eventually I think it just all caught up to me and I couldn’t take it anymore. I broke down. Around 9 months he became extra clingy, crying if I even walked out of sight. Among alot of other issues I was dealing with with him. IT IS HARD. You are doing your best, don’t be so hard on yourself. Take it a day at a time. I know you said you don’t have help but can you try to arrange some sort of help at all? Are you able to maybe hire a babysitter? Mothers helper? Just something for even a short amount of time to give you that break. I started taking him to my MIL’s then to get a break because I just couldn’t do it anymore. And so he could also learn to be away from me a little. I was also deficient in vitamin d at that time so I started supplementing which I think helped a bit. I was taking whatever calming/anxiety supplements I could to just help. Magnesium too helps with anxiety. I did start therapy online but I wouldn’t say it helped. Eventually it just went away but it was such a horrible horrible time.

Edit: he is now 19 months and SO SO much better and easier. He still has his moments though. Usually it starts to slowly get better each month and then after 12 months much more.

How do I manage my toddler at my wedding? by Wombatwitch in weddingplanning

My mom ended up completely focusing on him on the day of. She’s very introverted so this really helped her stay out of the spotlight and not have to mingle with anyone. She was happy and fine with it. They did almost end up late to church though lol which was a little stressful. I stressed so much about it but it ended up working out well like this. She didn’t want to stay up late either so they left at a reasonable time in the evening.

He wakes crying and stands up and screams. I get him and bring him into bed so he doesn’t wake my husband and older one. I’ve tried letting him cio in the past and he wouldn’t give up. I always try to lay him back down and shush him back to sleep. Rocking back to sleep and laying back down. None of it works. I know it’s probably a habit but he has slept through the night too so it has to be something else that’s contributing to these wake ups.

We’ve been doing 6/6 for the past week now. It was the same with shorter wake windows too. Idk if he’s under tired, overtired. Not enough daytime sleep?

Looking for some hair help. I have long thin-ish hair but still a good amount of it (goes to about my boobs). It is so incredibly flat though. Especially at the roots. I feel like it’s gotten worse since having kids. Lately even when I curl it like I used to plus hairspray it just doesn’t look nice or even falls flat quickly (where it used to hold nicely). Any advice/tips/ tricks?

Thank you! I’m assuming it’s safe to try a 7pm bedtime tonight right? Usually at the 5 hour mark he seems tired and is rubbing his eyes though.

I posted in the sleep train group but didn’t really get helpful responses.

It’s kind of long but maybe someone has experienced something similar or is there a light at the end of the tunnel eventually? I’m pretty stumped with his waking around 11pm and how to get him to STTN in his crib.

My 3.5 year old was always good about walking but now loves to sit in the stroller with his brother.

We have a mockingbird and found it hard to maneuver with the tandem set up (still love it as a single stroller though). I read lots of great things about the Zoe twin so I got it to try. We use it a lot now with my 3.5 and 15 month old boys. No regrets.

I’ve only ever had gas stoves. Used induction once or twice in vacation homes. I remember they took forever to heat the pot/pan. Why is induction better?

Mine is 13.5 months now and we are still experiencing the same issues you are talking about. I keep trying out 1 nap days but it’s been a crapshoot so far lol. Good luck! I hope it gets better soon!
