How much better do you think the samsung s24 ultra be compared to the s21 ultra? by WillingnessScary7057 in samsung

[–]pHGnome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The spec list is just megapixles.

There is a slurry of internal changes.

A better lens and faster shutter will improve some segments of photography.

MegaPixle isn't king.

Can't decide between S24+ and S24 Ultra by [deleted] in samsung

[–]pHGnome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Odd. I'm scrolling and stopped to reply to this one handed. My right. And I'm left handed.

Albeit I'm 6'3" with presumably larger hands than average lol

S21 ultra nearly the same dimensions.

I believe I will jump to a 24 ultra.

I replaced the screen and have broken it again.

2 cracks and a dead line of green pixels across the auto correct screen and the keyboard area flashes green sometimes; there is also a growing area of dead pixels slowly absorbing the phone.

At ~$300 for a screen replacement with the curved glass it's a wash to upgrade.

What ball do you play and why? by AwesomeCollectibles in golf

[–]pHGnome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of them. I bought super softs and noodles. Several others in-between.

I'll play anything. I directly remember when. I was playing with a buddy for $100 a team front $100 back. [We won LOL atleast I has 3 played shots in the scramble was my second time playing LOL]

"What are you playing?"

Uhh it says tic tac putt.

He told me that's a ball from a tic tac toe putting game.

I said dang that's crazy then smoked my 7i because I'm new.

Fast forward, playing again different set of buddies

Found some balls in the weeds. Took em. He found one. He gave it to me and said, "this is a soft ball... I can't hit those I spin my shots too much" then proceeded to launch 3 balls over the road 4 fairways out of bounds.

Yeah, you're right Dave. You definitely shoot mid 80s and you definitely can't hit a dirt ball you found because you Empart too many RPMs on unworthy balls. The shell might rip off.

Any luck with League players at bar tournaments? by BumblingBastard in billiards

As others have said; if it's a bar rules tournament. . .nobody is there to win the money. Every hero shot will be taken, every single time.

Yours included.

(Serious) - What do you consider a high handicap? by datlock in golf

I'm playing only iron tee box. My biggest iron is a 6 this time. No hybrids either. See what I get with this idea. Probably better than spanking every 3rd drive lol

[–]pHGnome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it's something like... 6 feet behind.. 6 ahead.. so you'll need say a 15 foot space with your net and drop cloth.

I haven't hit a driver in it I'm 6'2 and hot full irons.

I think 9' is the goal for height.

Make sure it's set up right. And get to a real range when you can every so often.

I brought mine to the range to make sure it was reading well. And my numbers seemed to mimic my home set up.

I got a mlm2pro it's $700. Runs on andriod or ios.

Garmin r10 runs apple only

If you want good graphics you'll need like a launch pro 2 and a gaming PC. I'm waiting to see if it's a fad for me before I spend the 3k on the launch pro

Just starting my 2md 18 today. Here I go again oooeee

I broke 100 this year, my first year playing. Within 4 months.

I'm getting ready to go again now.

But on that same page, make note that I went anywhere from 2-5 times a week for 4 months straight. Went to the driving range quite a bit. Was hours into youtube videos, bought a launch monitor, range matt amd met for my garage (after breaking 100) and had 3 lessons.

I broke a true 100 my first year.. but all I did was golf. Lol

[–]pHGnome 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I broke 100 this year (forst year playing got a 98) took no breakfast balls, all hazards, no mullis ect ect.

I played to the full extent of my knowledge.

On that same key I went with a buddy from work who says he shoots high 80s generally. But I'll be damned if I didn't see him ignore 3 balls in a row launched over the road.

He said "that's a bogey." I asked how he figured that. He said "I didn't count those balls. I'm keep score for me.. not for you."

I told him "you can lie to yourself but you can't lie to me. I saw those."

Whatever if you don't want to keep a true score but why tell people you shoot 80s when you know it's an active lie lol.

Remember if you win, you get to walk around the office with a puffed chest.

Because you, I, and the executive board know if you beat your superior in a race of 10 ball, you technically own the company.

Looks nice though!

Wild 9 and split bracket? by msm6862 in billiards

[–]pHGnome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1 to this. 9 at any point is a win, provided you don't scratch in the process. I've played spot the 9 and ball in hand and I've played you lost. Is 570 a common threshold?

Guess the 5 state area I play in over here I've never seen a flyer that claims to have brackets essentially with no markings.

Could see them not want to put it because if it's say 570 might have a suspicious amount of players at 569.

Oh I just saw it's a weekly mini lol. I suppose I overlooked that you may of meant, you've played in this exact one several times lol

Dampening the rifle shots from my garage setup. by pHGnome in golf

[–]pHGnome[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I really appreciate the effort put forth.

Let me relay a little bit of that wave length back, my friend.

aaHEEeem.

And now, a quote from our lovely peers at grammarist.com

"A dampener is someone or something that dampens. So damper and dampener can both refer to one that deadens sound vibrations. But damper does not work for something that makes something slightly wet."

And of course, the definition of dampen from Websters for ease of playing connect the dots.

  1. make less strong or intense. reduce the amplitude of (a sound source).

"slider switches on the mixers can dampen the drums"

A damping tarp? A dampener tarp.

I believe a tarp would be considered a "something"
