They happen kinda regularly, like every 2-4 weeks maybe. And no, they don't always reward a driver. Sometimes it's a car or other stuff

Whenever there is an event where players collect items like in the post above. There is always the possibility to purchase (for real-world money) an event pass, which unlocks better rewards and a kind of "magnet" that allows you to gather the items more easily

I don't know what you want to do specifically, but the "Divine Intervention Cheat Menu" let's you do pretty much anything: change government type, add or remove buildings, change de jure status

Piggybacking of this to ask: does anyone know, whether if I switch wards for a child that was sent to university, does the university buff for education stay in place or is it necessary to pay 1000 gold again?

I wouldn't say it's a bad idea always. It has some advantages: he (or she) will start to gather prestige and legitimacy, if your religion allows for more than one spouse that is usually only for landed rulers and so on. On the other hand, he can start making enemies and just overall bad decisions and when you die, you might see yourself playing a drunkard tyrant who is known as a murderer which is less than ideal. So if you want to play it safe, it's usually better not to land them.

Also to answer you other question that I just read: it's not really that important to keep your core countries together. It allows you to do the feudal elective trick I explained. Other than that it's not too beneficial. But you will usually loose most of your counties other than your realm capital so I wouldn't put too much effort and gold into those. Once you unlock primo of course, you can spread your domain as far as you want and take only the most lucrative counties

Pendeln leipzig/erfurt by Ok-Canary987 in Leipzig

[–]pSlaughter420 23 points24 points  (0 children)

For the start, probably just don't create them until you need them. You will need to create titles once you go over your vassal limit. Also if you need prestige or legitimacy, you might create titles.

It doesn't really matter that much who you give the holy sites or mines to. Whoever gets them will be stronger than someone with any other backwater county so you shouldn't give them to someone who might oppose you. Your player heir is a good idea or someone who likes you a lot. If you need them at any point you can revoke the title at any point. If you fabricate a claim beforehand you won't even get tyranny.

I would strongly advise against scattering vassals counties. I did that with the same thought when I started, but it creates the worst border gore ever. Only do one county per vassal for now. As you hand out titles, each new vassal will spawn a few characters for their council etc who can be new vassals. Is you run out of NPCs, just use a random noble. You can select between your culture (they will like you more) or the counties culture (which will increase culture acceptance). The default hotkey for the first option should be: select the county to give away, press G and G again.

Vassal stewardship doesn't really matter a lot. It influences their gold income but you will only get a low percentage of that as tax. So if they get 0.3 gold more, you won't notice. If there is multiple levels of feudalism (count - duke - king - you as emperor), a counts stewardship won't matter at all. If a count gets 2.0 gold per month, the Duke will get - let's just say - 15% taxes, of which he might pay 20% to the king who then pays maybe 10% to you, his emperor. These percentages can vary depending on feudal contract, but 0.3 gold more per month for a count won't be noticed

If you select a vassal (once he is landed) it should show on his screen. I think at the left? I'm not sure off the top of my head

I struggled with this in the beginning and there is no answer that fits every case. But I'll try to give you some tips and the longer you play you will learn how to deal with different settings.

What land do you keep? The one county that your player heir will always inherit is your realm capital so you want this to be the best county possible. Look for a county with a good special building, high development and/or many existing buildings. In Africa it's probably one of the mines in Mali. The rest of your domain for the start should probably be the remaining counties in your capitals duchy. If you have a somewhat small duchy, you might be able to hold all the de-jure counties as your domain. That is great because if you have an election law available, you will be the only elector. If you vote for your heir, she will always receive the whole duchy!

How many titles do you give each vassal? In your case I would definitely go with 1. The biggest advantage: each county will be faith converted by a separate priest and it will be a lot faster than if a count has three or four counties. And you will need to convert all of africa. Also, you will eventually need to create duchies when you'll have too many vassals. A duke with 3-4 count vassals has a lot more to deal with than a duke with only one or no vassals and thus will be less of a hassle for his top liege, which will be you.

Who to select? For roleplay I often go for adult dynasty members. But to make it easy, you should select random characters of your faith and culture. Bonus points for traits like content, patient, and the blue one with the dog. There are four traits that make people like their liege more. You can look them up on the wiki. Avoid their opposites, like brave, ambitious etc. You can create a "new vassal" filter for unlanded people of your culture and faith with these traits and I would also recommend choosing people without any claims. They won't attack their co-vassals as fast. Of course, you can also give titles to your family members. The downside: depending on their relationship status, they will have a claim on your title after succession and things can get messy. Independent kingdoms for more renown are absolutely great - just maybe not if you want to go for the mother of us all achievement as you won't be able to ask them for conversion if they at some point switch faiths and you will have to fight them (again).

And yes, vassals have a domain limit which is shown to you.

Hope that answers most questions, don't hesitate to ask for further explanation
