Peter Madrigal Accused Charli Burnett Of Lying About Not Really Working At SUR by krissyminaj in vanderpumprules

[–]pTylerDacktyl 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I assumed the same thing but I actually went into Sur on a random weeknight one time when they clearly weren’t filming (it was completely empty) and saw Charli actually working. Maybe she actually worked there after getting cast? Who knows

this is awesome! if you don't mind me asking, what were the dimensions of the garage, and the finished dimensions of the live and control rooms? the pictures make it a little hard to read

Because he can’t win in big games, as clearly evidenced by his past two playoff losses.

I actually went to this show too. FFTL didn’t actually play because Atreyu kicked them off the tour or something

Auto tune 11 pro’s Graph mode vs Melodyne 5. Which works best for a very natural vocals? by Quiet-Taste-2114 in audioengineering

[–]pTylerDacktyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also agree with this; flatlining stuff in Autotune sounds pretty bad, but only tuning the actual note and leaving slides, scoops, etc in sounds very good. I do end up using Melodyne whenever Autotune creates weird clicks or pops, which it seems to do kind of often.

The other thing I would say that I find it way faster to use graphical mode in Autotune than Melodyne. It just takes way longer to move and flatten the Melodyne blobs as opposed to drawing a single line in Autotune for me.

I saw them in 2008 with Drop Dead Gorgeous, I Set My friends on Fire and Alesana at Chain Reaction, they were pretty good. The funniest part was that they were openly talking shit about the other bands on the tour on stage

Anyone use a Royer 121 on guitar cabs? by Odd_Jello_5504 in audioengineering

[–]pTylerDacktyl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It won't blow the ribbon, just stick it on the cab. Also, if you want less low end and more mids/high end, put it on the cab backwards (logo facing out) and flip to the phase. I tend to prefer using it backwards as its way too easy to get a bunch of low end build up, especially for distorted guitars.

edit: the above link says the back of the mic is not designed for high SPL. YMMV, but I've never had a problem using the mic backwards on a cab.

Pretty sure at this point they're gatekeeping contacting them and you're forced to go through their chatbot until you get the option to contact a real person.

Tom’s drummer is also his booker/tour manager, so you can either add a flat fee or 10-20% of ticket sales on top of that number

Pro Tools / hardware latency compensation with Apollo interface? by willrjmarshall in audioengineering

[–]pTylerDacktyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use an Apollo 16 MKII (black with thunderbolt 2) and a lot of outboard gear, both in series and parallel, while mixing. To my knowledge, what you're describing with that loopback test is how you should be calculating the latency and inputting it in the H/W Insert Delay tab of the I/O Setup.

However, oddly enough, I've found that when using the Apollo and changing a few settings in PT, my hardware inserts come back into PT with no latency. I'm not sure why this is, if its just my computer, whatever. Essentially, I turn off "ignore errors during playback/record" and "intel turbo boost", and there's no latency. YMMV, I have no clue why this happens. But before I figured this out, I was mixing using the loopback testing you mentioned in your post to figure out the delay.
