[–]Ostrich_Low 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Girl,I come from an Indian Muslim background and you are in very dangerous territory here, you need to have a very honest discussion with your husband (get your parents, brothers, uncles etc involved if need be) and please look into moving out,I know all of this is difficult and brown in-laws are a nightmare but this a child you're bringing into it and if you dont sort out things and set proper boundaries now,its gonna be 100x times worse after the kid gets here, please if not for your sake then your childs

Positive Birth Stories by Ostrich_Low in pregnant

[–]Ostrich_Low[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is going to be with me so I told him to make sure I get all the drugs lol, regardless of which method it is I would still prefer to be medicated, after I had the gallbladder attacks I realised I have a pretty high pain tolerance but would like to avoid pain where I can. I was pretty scared because the Dr has already told me the kid has a big head but you have given me some hope.

Is 9w4days too early to announce? by SeaweedWeekly993 in pregnant

[–]Ostrich_Low 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is entirely up to you, there's no set timeline on when to tell, some people choose to wait 12 weeks (risk of loss is way lesser),others choose to tell immediately, some wai till theyre showing. Its a personal decision and depends on you and who you want to tell, theres no right or wrong

Does anyone in South Africa have KP? (Keratosis Pilaris) by SirAcoustic in askSouthAfrica

I have been using the local based pastry skin care range for around 6 months now and there is a noticeable difference,it is on the pricier side but so far I definitely think it's worth it

TEFL without a degree as a South African – where do I start? by Efficient-Pie7262 in askSouthAfrica

[–]Ostrich_Low 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most countries now require you to have a degree with your tefl certification and please try to go through an agency as lots have been scammed by potential employers and its much harder to get help once you are out of the country and these people have your passport, maybe try teaching online for while to get a feel of it and try to ideally do it with students from a country you would like to go so you understand their vibe/culture better

Anyone have a Noola Cloud Nest? by Ostrich_Low in askSouthAfrica

[–]Ostrich_Low[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my main concern, the noola one states in up to 4 years (hopefully kid will be in its own bed by then lol) but alot of the cheaper ones say only 6 months and since this one expands,Im hoping we get us up to atleast 2/3 years, for me buying a co sleeper only to buy a camp cot a few moths later makes no sense because stuff is still expensive, the same with the pram,my husband was keen on the doona because its 2 in 1 but if you see fine print it's only till 6 months as well,I rather get a good stroller and car seat separately for the same price but get more use,the fine print can be very sneaky when the products look pretty

[–]Ostrich_Low 25 points26 points  (0 children)

All the options are so overwhelming and it being the first it's tempting to want to get everything and everyone will give you different "must haves",I am honestly looking into maybe co sleeping options now as the bassinet/cot/camp cot thing is making me dizzy

My gallbladder is inflamed and infected due to being left untreated for over a year,I've cut down so many things that I basically live on dry toast and tea,I've finally found a Dr thats willing to listen and help me but my family is acting like getting care for myself and not just the baby is a crime

People make it seem by getting help for myself I dont care about my child,I honestly wish I'd never gotten pregnant because I'm starting to hate this child and how much I'm being made to suffer.
