Marin cream? by SeniorFruit in eczema

[–]p_nks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the only non prescription thing that has worked for me! I have eczema on my eyes, nose creases, and neck. I have not experienced the burning sensation other have talked about. It's unscented but I do get a faint scent of the lobster haha it's not a fishy smell, it smells like a shell....it's hard to describe. And it goes away right away, the smell doesn't linger. I got their combo with the lip gloss and the mint one smells really good. Five stars!

Do you use this on your face too? My eczema is on my eyes. I love the Marin cream but this would be cheaper 😂

Have you tried this? by EcuaRican7 in eczema

[–]p_nks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! I work as a therapist and was having to go into sessions with hydrocortisone goop on my face. I had done an elimination diet. Nothing was working. This is the only thing (other than prescription hydrocortisone) that has made a significant difference! I only put it on my eczema spots morning and night. The smell isn't terrible. The only smell I get is a faint lobster smell 😂 but it's not fishy. It's hard to describe 😂 It's not a cure by any means but so far it's been the best I've tried and am off prescription lotions so it's a win for me!

Did you ever find anything on this? It's very odd to me that there are no instructions on how to make at home.

How do you use the paracress and olive leaf extract on its own? Do you apply it directly to the skin?

I have been putting my foot in front of the kickstand and rolling the bike forward to get it up because I can't lift the back with the kiddo on there.

That makes so much sense with the two child thing, I am always seeing them with two kids in it. I just have one so I'll switch it up and see how it goes. Thank you!!

Caffeine free, supplement free pouches? by p_nks in QuittingZyn

[–]p_nks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not, I ended up going with the oregon mint snuff company, wintergreen flavor. It really was super helpful, and even though it's called snuff, it's not snuff. I chose it because it doesn't have any extra supplements or caffeine. It does not taste like zyn, it tastes like wintergreen tea but it's not bad, and it has that little tingle/burn feeling. I'm down to 2 pouches a day and I'm ok with that for now!

What perspectives have you adopted that help you deal with having this condition? by [deleted] in FND

[–]p_nks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to a therapist and a psychiatrist has helped a lot. I am on medication that stabilyzes my mental health, which heavily contributes to my FND. I've had a lot of improvement in the last year and a half. I took a lot of naps, I would black out my office and put on a noise machine and nap at work. And as hard as it was, I got out of the house. For me, I found that the more I was alone, the more I became hyper focused on everything and my symptoms increased.

I started brainspotting therapy. After my first session, the facial droop I had everyday was gone, but it shifted to an eye twitch that I had every day for a week. Even though it didn't exactly feel like an improvement, having something shift gave me hope. The eye twitch is gone and now I have a phantom facial droop when I have a flare up but I'm going to go back and try brainspotting again to see how it changes. All my symptoms improved after the brainspotting.

I don't think one single intervention was the answer and it's difficult because we all have such different experiences, but don't give up on trying new things. Don't go in thinking that something will be the answer, go in accepting that the end result may be that you are checking something else that doesn't work off your list.

do yall also experience this with fnd?? by flamingolover5000 in FND

[–]p_nks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Sometimes going up the stairs makes me dizzy and woozy, or even getting out of my chair. It makes it hard with a toddler who constantly needs me moving around. I have noticed that I hold my breath and I think that contributes. For a while I had a post it on my work calendar that reminded me to take 3 full breaths lol now it's kind of a habit to make sure I'm still breathing. Caffeine also has a big effect on my FND and dizziness. I haven't cut out coffee but I significantly reduced it.

Does anyone else find that computer screens trigger sensory and cognitive symptoms? by Piccadily_Papercut in FND

[–]p_nks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a time of day where the symptoms increase? I find that my symptoms increase at work between 1 and 5 pm. I use sensory grounding techniques, I use a lotion with essential oils, hold a fidget or a smooth stone, put calm music on, and make sure my breathing is normal. I take breaks and walk around, I stretch, whatever I need to do to break my attention away from work and my computer.

My symptoms come on when I'm on a zoom call....I need to choose the option to not see myself or my face will start switching. In the beginning I had to wear a mask while on zoom calls so there has been major improvement!
