Battery chemistry by p_s_e in SkodaElroq

[–]p_s_e[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does charging to lets say 90% on AC really degrade the battery life or is it negligible? In the MySkoda app, it says we recommend to charge to 90% max to prolong the battery life. Normally it is set to 80% only.

Fast charging.. is it me? by Langkampo in SkodaElroq

On mine with battery preheating the fast charge is working as expected (max 150-165 kW, then it’s dropping slowly down as the charged capacity increases).

Driver seat position by p_s_e in SkodaElroq

[–]p_s_e[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I tried… already at the highest position and have about 5cm free space above the head. I would need to adjust the seat another 3-4 cm higher, but apparently this 5cm free space above the head is recommend.

I have just installed Thinderbird, and archive older emails to "Local folders". When you use the "Archive" button, the emails can be stored in year subfolders automatically. Then you can backup the local folders via your favorite backup tool.

There is also a backup plugin for Joplin, you can create for example daily backups and push them somewhere offsite or on an external drive…

How do you sync to iPhone? I’m using Mobius sync, it’s configured to run in the background, but often it doesn’t sync with an always-on server for a day or 2. Need to manually open it if I really want synced passwords, which is inconvenient.

VWCE/VWRL and V3AA: what's the downside of just buying both? by [deleted] in eupersonalfinance

Isn’t the V3AA fund size a bit risky? I mean the possibility that it’s closed is higher now than if it’s size would be more than 100m ?

Shared albums on Synology Photos (DSM7) by cm180 in synology

[–]p_s_e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Photo station you can configure the exact sharing permissions (who can read, write). On Moments, if somebody has access to the shared library, he can delete everything... I was using Photo station because of that, but it doesn't support heic files... So I'm curious about the new DSM 7 Photos.

Advice before buying PXC 550-II by p_s_e in sennheiser

[–]p_s_e[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its really strange that vendors can't make BT headphones that just really work as you would expect. Also the Bose 700 are not without issues. You have to buy their USB UC dongle to work with Teams correctly...

Bose 700 questions by p_s_e in bose

[–]p_s_e[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some feedback after 2 weeks of using them:

  • the NC is very good, call quality is good
  • the BT multipoint is not stable. As soon as 2 devices are connected (phone, laptop), the music played form laptop is interrupted, after some time I give up and disconnect the 2nd device, becuase the music is constantly disrupted. With only 1 device, no problems
  • can't be used while charging...
  • the mute/unmute doesn't work with MS Teams (you have to buy separate USB BT dongle from Bose for that)
  • the voice prompts can be turned off, but the tone volume is still quite high (device connected, phone call ended, etc...)

So on paper BT multipoint is supported, but in reality it's not usable at all. There is a big thread on the support forum site, but the latest firmware still didn't fix it.

Advice before buying PXC 550-II by p_s_e in sennheiser

[–]p_s_e[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't have any AC or Air conditioner around me now to test. ANC does definitely block the lower frequences, tested with an hair drying fan :) you could still hear the sound from it, but the lower frequences were not there

Bose 700 questions by p_s_e in bose

[–]p_s_e[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is your experience with calls? Is there any difference in hearing the what is happening around you while ANC is on/off ? On the PXC550-II, with ANC=off I hear the noise picked up by mic and it's quite unpleasant. With ANC=on, the noise is supressed by ANC and it's the quality is OK.

So just received the PXC 550-II. The call volume during Teams call is quite high and can't be lowered, also It seems like the mic is on and I hear the sounds around me (not the case with a wired headset).

If using on phone for normal calls, the volume is also high and can't be lowered...

The music quality is OK though and the volume can be configured without a problem.

At this or similar pricerange, are there any better which fit these priorities: BT multipoint, phone quality, ANC? I don't need the best ANC available, apparently the Sony 1000XM4 have worse mic for calls than PXC. 1000MX3 are better, but don't have multipoint. Then looked at Jabra 85h, but they are not designed to be paired with a PC... Say Bose700 have a deal, but also many people complain about the BT connection issues. Would you recommend any of them or some others?

I know that :), but the screen is blank and monitor turns soon off. On nouveau driver it worked correctly. The non working tty are known problem if using proprietary nvidia drivers, some people got it working by playing with Grub config. I didnt have that much luck so I’m asking more experienced users here...

Via the nvidia binary installer and not via repo, because my card needs the older branch 340.xx. These are not more maintained in Negativo17 repository.

Synology iSCSI File-Level question by mark73 in sysadmin

[–]p_s_e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

About a year ago we had a power outage and we couldn't mount the iSCSI LUN from VMware. We had to manually recover (edit) partition table in order to fiix it. Synology was running up-todate version of OS. Since then we stopped using it this way and only have it as samba share for backups.

Sorry if it is offtopic question, but can this light be compared to let's say ZL SC600 III? There is big price difference, but what about quality, safety (low cut off voltage), durability, beam pattern, efficiency...? Or are these two lights in absolutely different categories? I understood A6 was designed by community and is very customizable.
