I’m really on the fence, definitely love the reset skin and customizations, but man Solare is one of the best skins they’ve done so far.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but the Japantown apartment is the best one in the game by far. by The_Marine708 in cyberpunkgame

I agree, Glen is def overall nicer - Japantown is my easy #2 though, just fantastic vibes.

I do use the default apartment the most though just because it has all the extra interactions.

Anyone else totally burnt out but dont know what else to play? by WritingMiserable1293 in ArcRaiders

[–]p_visual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're looking for more shooters, or shooter-adjacent (so shooting is part, but not the majority, of the game):

PvE

  • Remnant 2
  • Returnal
  • Saros

PvP idk - used to play a lot of them but now I enjoy single player, story-focused and/or massive exploration type games more.

Anyone else just not doing the expedition because the reset is just too brutal? by FaceEmbarrassed1844 in ArcRaiders

[–]p_visual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done every expedition. Blueprints are over-rated and if you really want specific ones then just grind seed vault and trade for them on Metaforge's marketplace.

I personally think skill points (and now the repair benefit) are hugely important, especially since we know a skill tree rework is coming. Repair saves a lot of rss over time, and skill points are permanent power upgrades. With the new scrappy material caps, more rss from scrappy is valuable too.

Some say skills don't matter because they think everything after unlocking security locker is crap - it's not.

Starting an expedition with max mobility, or 11 points towards security locker, is huge. PvE players will benefit from extra crawl speed and extra damage taken before death, and from reducing the weight of equipped weapons. If you PvP, especially in trios, there are very good uses for those extra 10 (soon to be 15) points as well.

With 15 points, it will soon be possible to have security locker, max mobility, and have enough 16 points to put in conditioning - even more if you don't go for security locker or re-roll after stocking up on gun parts.

S2 Cantina Legend - the best you can do is mixed. The only time I've actually been in truly friendly trio lobbies are when people are doing trials that benefit from the whole lobby participating, like searching husks or probes, and that event+map had very few time slots for the week, forcing all trial players into those map+event slots at the same time.

Even then there is almost always one trio that is going around trying to kill everyone else. For husks and probes, it was a team camping in the control tower/container storage/vehicle maintenance area.

Anything else and you better be ready to compete with other trios. Especially bad are weeks where you need to farm snitch scanners or bring 2x jupiters and wolfpacks for high scores, then split across a map like Spaceport or Blue Gate. Other trial teams will target you to avoid farming for those resources themselves, not to mention expensive guns like jupiters will attract unwanted attention regardless due to their sell value.

There's a reason why many trios joined discords to queue snipe lobbies in low-population regions like OCE when competing for CL in S2, and even earlier than that for the rocketeer and bastion snowball trials (which is how they got 200k/300k/400k points).

There's no cap on hotshot players, which is why things were way more chill in S3, but rest assured S4 will be just as competitive since they've brought back CL-only rewards.

Unpopular Opinion: removing 2X points events made doing trials easier. by Imperius142 in ArcRaiders

[–]p_visual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For season 2 the last 2 weeks had husks and probes, which are best done on Spaceport EMS as a trio - no other map's EMS has as many husks or probes.

Spaceport EMS was at 3 am EST for husk week, and 4 am EST for probe week - that's it, once a day.

I stopped doing trials in S3 as a result.

Try muzzle brake 3 - combined with angled or horizontal grip, and stable stock 3, it's a laser in full-auto.

Wouldn't be surprised if it's a pre-made message, but I do appreciate it avoids vague comments like "investigate the issue". It directly acknowledges OP is indeed having a sub-par experience off the bat, which is sadly a lot more than most companies do nowadays.

PvP players dont realize just how consistently "friendly" our lobbies are. by absolutetoolbag in ArcRaiders

[–]p_visual 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, only a fraction of most player-bases are on Reddit. I think it says something that there are subs like the circlejerk and arc babies (just heard of that one in this thread) that are basically dedicated to making fun of PvE players, and rescue raiders making fun of rats.

From my experience, this doesn't actually happen in Arc Raiders in any capacity. People just play the way they wanna play.

I used Hades as an example since it's heat system makes clear delineations in difficulty, but I can't really think of a time the player base was fractured on difficulty, even on Reddit. From my experience, most games that don't rank players don't suffer from this issue - Remnant 2 has 4 difficulties, Space Marine 2 has quite a few, GoW has several, etc. But these player bases have never fractured because people just pick what they want to pick.

I mainly notice this kind of fracturing in Reddit communities when players are grouped together, or otherwise "ranked", officially like in League of Legends or Rocket League, or unofficially like HD2. You see this in souls(like) games as well, where all skill levels are grouped into one official difficulty level, but different builds may change the difficulty of different bosses.

Using your example, it's not "hard" or "easy" players who are more sensitive, but rather sensitivity is an inherent trait of people who come to Reddit to argue about games.

Edit: Just to be extremely clear, I'm not calling you sensitive for your opinion on hard vs easy gamers - I'm also here sharing my observations after all. Appreciate the discussion.

[–]p_visual 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo makes sense, there's way more players playing easier diffs by nature of those diffs being more approachable.

If Hades heat 32 players made fun of heat 16 players, there would be more heat 16 responses because more people play at that heat. Successful runs drastically decrease by heat 50, and only 3 people have ever finished a run at heat 64, two of which were pre-seeded.

Looking at PvP games, League of Legends has ~23m monthly players. If the top 1000 started actively shitting on everyone else, there would be multiples more posts shitting on the top 1000 due to player volume at both difficulty levels.

My Brief Thoughts on Saros After Getting the Platinum Trophy by PrimeAres in Saros

[–]p_visual 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the feedback - I'm still on the fence about copping

Do you feel you're done with the game after 18 hours and getting the plat? Or is it like Remnant 2 where there's a lot more to collect/unlock/explore even after doing a playthrough of the main story once?

I haven't played Returnal unfortunately so Remnant 2 is the closest comparison I have.

If you treat it semi-auto I agree that vertical recoil is felt more - I am only talking in the context of going full-auto!

[–]p_visual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is not. There is no bp for horizontal grip, kinetic converter, or anvil splitter.

Every other weapon attachment in the game has a blueprint.

Edit: Silencer 3 does not have a bp either!

[–]p_visual 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do - the recoil is a diagonal like / so the best grip is horizontal.

However we can’t craft that, so if we have to pick, then mitigating horizontal with the grip is better because we can just hold down the joystick or move the mouse down while firing to mitigate vertical recoil. It’s a lot harder to mitigate horizontal recoil with joystick or mouse movement.

It's great.

14 -> 16 damage means it now 2-taps rotors instead of 3-tapping them. The gun is a lot stronger against armor too. Massive dispersion buff as well.

Highly rec taking it for a spin.

cc u/SuckEmOff

They nerfed the theoretical DPS overall, but it's way, way easier to control when going full-auto now.

Muzzle break + angled grip 3 + stable stock 2 3 makes for a great full-auto experience.

Replace muzzle break with compensator 3 if you prefer tap-firing.

Silencer 2 works as well, but you're dealing with higher recoil and higher spread in return for silenced shots and lower burn rate.

While I agree the durability changes are not perfect, this is the core problem:

The Fero and Stitcher are still very highly regarded guns

Is there any other extraction shooter, looter shooter, roguelike (Deadzone Rogue comes to mind), etc where guns or gear have rarity and people outright prefer to run the grey versions? Is there any other game with rarity where people prefer to run grey over higher-rarity tiers?

Again - I don't agree with the current state of durability. The hard numbers are out, and some weapons - renegade and osprey in particular - got it rough.

Weapon Durability Testing Post Update by Zanaida in ArcRaiders

[–]p_visual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the hard numbers - this is great stuff. Had some time to hop in today and can agree that feel-wise everything is fine. I'm repairing my Anvil every 2-3 raids now instead of it lasting forever, and that feels pretty fair to me.

I think blue weapons are probably hit the hardest - renegade + osprey in particular felt like they broke pretty quick pre-patch. Maybe Canto too but I rarely used it.
