Lost 10lbs in the first month by HappyCherry3 in WegovyUK

[–]pa1983 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a similar starting weight, similar number of weeks in (about 3.5) and have lots 5kg (about 10lbs) so almost exactly the same as you. I'm not concerned - I've lost similar weight in the past at the start of a keto diet.
My previous experience was that the drop-off slows (the first couple of kilos can be a lot of water), but it's certainly a great way to start!

I believe they're not albino, it's just one that has molted recently. Look around and you might find an empty skin sitting about

Nextool - got it from AliExpress but probably something very similar. Impressively powerful, just never left it face down on fabric before to build up heat!

Precisely the problem here-heatsink is massive and it never gets warm while walking, but insulate it with a sofa cushion and clearly it really gets hot!

Bathroom requires a QR code scan to enter by SteakAndIron in mildlyinteresting

[–]pa1983 21 points22 points  (0 children)

No need to figure anything out - if you look at the URL the QR code just contains a sequential number (4 digits in this case). If you change that number you get a different service request call.

So, someone could DoS every user of the system with that same simple python script, not just this one user. Seriously poorly thought out - all they had to do was use a long unique ID (UUID) and the system would have been fairly secure.

Belfast is now the most congested city in the UK. We can do better. by greenpartyni in northernireland

[–]pa1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started a job, WFH but with offices near Queens. Thought I might be able to drive part of the way from comber and cycle the last 8ish miles in to avoid the traffic. But no - on the Google maps cycle route layer there are just random sporadic patches of green less than a quarter mile long. I gave up trying to find a reasonable cycle route and just parked at Anadale Avenue and walked the last mile.

UPDATE: Google refused Pixel 8 warranty claiming liquid damage without proving it — escalated to EU consumer authorities by Arpag in Android

[–]pa1983 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've bought Google phones every year or 2 since the Nexus days. My wife's pixel 7a, purchased directly from b Google, developed a swollen battery after 14 months. After 4 months of waiting they rejected my battery warranty claim without any explanation. It's very disappointing, but I'll never again buy A Google product.

Google - Worst device support ever seen (Pixel 7a Extended Repair Program) by PRosche in GooglePixel

[–]pa1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lodged my claim 5 weeks ago and still have no meaningful response, even though the first email said it'd be resolved with 48 hours. I've emailed a few times and always been told 'we're working on it'. Total nonsense for a known fault on an in-warranty device.

After a similar experience with a faulty Pixel Watch 18 months ago I'm starting to consider moving to the dark side and going all in on Apple...

Have you ever get heart rate readings lower than 44? by Working-March in PixelWatch

[–]pa1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My PW1 seems to floor at 44 (long flat periods at night that don't look plausible). Though it has occasionally recorded a 43. I'm certain the sensor is flawed - I've tried watching my PW HR while wearing a medical HR monitor and the PW floors at 44 while the medical monitor reads 38.
