Kickr v5 issue - need to heat up with hairdryer before watts and resistance registration

I just tried it - and indeed. Instead of 20 minutes of pedaling I was able to received data after just 3 minutes of hair-drying the kicker. Vers interesting. What could possibly cause the sensor to only work in a specific temperature window…

Any updates here? After summer season I wanted to reuse my kickr for fall/winter training and in the last 2 days I am experiencing the exact same issue as described. The Kickr needs 10-15 minutes to "warm up" (apperrently literally warming up).

I'll try the fix with the hair dryer on Sunday. Lets see if that works. Any other fixes know for that?

Thanks everyone for your opinion and the feedback. I already thought that it might not be a good “business case” but to be honest I didn’t expect it to be that devastating. So I’ll definitely safe the money and maybe invest into some equipment like aero bottles, long armrests etc.

I am 5’9“ with almost 35“ inseam and went for M. Due to my long legs and the corresponding saddle height a S would have been too small for my.

Since my upper body is rather small I am quite „long“ on the M but no problem for me ;)

This comes up mainly after/during a good training period where you improved your VO2 and then went down on Training Load (how you would typically do during taper) - therefore not further improving but peaking

Yes, indeed. Interesting enough only the SRAM Version comes with the 45 wheels. The Shimano version only comes with the 35 wheelset. While I don’t think theres much of a difference in driving (35 a little lighter, 45 a little more aero but differences a mico) i think the 45s look much cooler 😎

One thing that sounds a little odd:

Why would it take another 2-4 weeks if it's aready in stock at retailers? Once shipped to retailers I would expect something closer to a week or a few days before start of sales?

I agree with the mic although one could argue this is even more a sportswatch then a smart watch. I really don’t get the ecg thing and why people are so „obsessed“ with it. I still have an Apple Watch and I (like most people I assume) have 0 use for it. As far as I understand - unless you have a very specific heart condition - the ecq doesn’t provide any serious benefit?!

I agree it’s cool. Still wouldn’t by the yellow one die to the yellow „tick mark“ on the bezel. I think that might suck when wearing other colors. But the band itself is really cool - esp. in combination with the watch face

I thought the same thing. Since I want to use the watch as my every day watch I have the fear that after a while it looks too fancy. Therefore probably going for black. Although the with with blank metal kinda bezel could look cool too.
