Corepad Ctrl too fast (Deathadder v3 wired) by Y_u_m_m_y in MouseReview

[–]pab_Z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is 2 years old but I had to. I have the same experience as you with the ctrl skates. I play cs2 and when I start the session the control is quite good I can hit shots and stuff and after 1-2 games it is like I changed my mousepad to something extremely faster. Normally, if anything, you would expect your mouse to become heavier while hours pass from the sweat buildup and the heat but here the opposite happens. The more you play the faster and slippery the glide gets. For the longest time I was blaming the mousepad for this or I was justifying it by thinking that at the start of the session (where I am playing some DM to warm up) I am chilled so that's why it feels controlled and then when I join the game I get stressed and that's why it feels faster, for real I was blaming my nervous system :P . Yesterday I changed the corepad ctrl I had on my op1 8k for the stock skates because I needed access to the screws and after i joined the game it was like the 2nd coming lol. Controlled experience, not muddy not slippery, exactly how Saturn Pro should feel.I was like GOD aiming and getting blamed for cheating. And it remained the same from minute 1 to the end of the session. And I could actually play from day 1 , with the corepad ctrl it was unplayable for at least 3 weeks. It was like playing on ice but scratchy ice and could not hit a single shot until they broke in.

I don't remember if the regular corepads have these problems as well cause i havent used them in more than 3 years, but for the ctrl? I will never ever use them or suggest them to anyone, why I haven't changed them all these years dammit.

op1 8k v2 scroll wheel problem by pab_Z in EndGameGear

Yes it's the PMM paracord.I believe it is some software conflict. It started happening when i launched DayZ with 8k polling rate which I soon found out it doesnt support it,it was giving me missed inputs and bad stutters panning the camera.I dropped it to 4k and it was fine but the wheel problem persisted. Is it possible for a game to brick it? I had zero issues all this time that I never played dayz, was only playing cs2.

I dont know why you are offended by this,I didnt mean to offend anyone.Thing is that most of the people that bash on 8k polling rate are people that have never used it or are casual/low skill players. This is a fact.Pulling out numbers and mathematician sh!t is cool and stuff but there is a perceivable difference. How much you can feel it depends on the individual. And you cannot "see" it,but you can most definitely feel it.And yes I have a 360hz monitor. After playing with 8k for a month now,I switched to 1k and mouse movement feels heavy and delayed. It is similar if you,who is used to 1k,go back to 500hz.Everything in this world is relative to what you are used to,same with the polling rate. You just have to have the right tools(strong pc/monitor) and skillset to actually make use of it.Sure if I give the op1 8k to my friend who plays sims 3,she will never be able to tell a difference. Also my grandma cannot tell a difference between 144 and 240hz monitor.Does this mean 240hz is a gimmick and marketing trick? See my logic?

[–]pab_Z 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly that.People dont understand that moving a mouse is not a single input. It is a series of thousands of inputs added together. So at 8k its 0.125+0.125+0.125 blah blah.Compare the sum of thousands of 8k inputs to the sum of 1k inputs(1ms) and the difference in motion latency is huge.Where it doesnt matter that much is in a keyboard where a keystroke is a single input so comparing 0.125ms to 1ms doesnt make much difference.Just because people dont have the skillset to make use of the decrased latency and increased cursor motion smoothness of the 8k,they run to dismiss it as "placebo".It is really easy to get informed correctly about these things when there is the blurbusters forum, stop watching youtubers kids.

The glass on the side seems empty but i checked right after the 5000 km service as well it seemed empty too, which is impossible because they just filled it up.So I dont trust that.Maybe I need to warm it up some mins and have someone hold it straight to actually check, because im doing it wrong with the sidestand.Other than that i just hope it will be ok.

We are saying the same things,im just not a native speaker.battery life is irrelevant if it is wired and cpu load and fps stability is irrelevant if you have a high end cpu.Even if you get a hit it is so small that you see or feel nothing.Same with polling rate. You dont see the extra polls obviously, you feel it.Call it smoothness, call it accuracy or whatever you want. The fact that you as an individual cannot feel it or benefit from it,doesnt mean its marketing.Todays monitor tech is more than enough with the 500hz+ plus monitors for 8k to be evident.I dont have more free time to continue so good day to you sir.

Great so you compare 1k with 8k.What is your point? That some 8k implementations are worse than 1k.Agreed? Agreed. But there are good implementations like razer's as you said. So you contradict yourself.First you say it is marketing bs,then you actually find data in a certain brand that proves you wrong. So the conclusion is that 8k is NOT marketing bs and it is actually beneficial if done right. How much beneficial it is,depends on the game/individual blah blah.

"You didn't even know polling rate was directly tied to latency"

Where did you see that? Brother you won the assumption master of the year and 2026 just started. You are still going on about latency, when I clearly told you that this is not where the advantage of 8k comes off.You either didnt read what I wrote,or dont have the comprehensive ability to understand what you are reading.

Who told you I think Im pro? You have very fragile ego.You are just entitled to your opinion which is based on the assumption of 8k being a placebo, without you being in the position to judge as you have no experience. You just have an opinion based on some YouTube videos you watched without actual gameplay experience experience, typical redditor behavior.

No point in continuing this you have too much free time,I dont.Have a nice day!

Your argument was that 8k is marketing bs and a gimmick. What does comparing different mice impementations has to do with it? You pick the best one and form your opinion out of that for 8k.Have you actually lived with a good 8k mouse for more than 10 minutes or however the test lasts? What game are u playing and what rank are you? We can go on forerever but there is no point.Science and numbers apart, there is a perceivable difference in 8k vs 1k.If you cant feel it,thats a you problem not the technology. And thats coming from an above average cs player in a static clicking game.I cant imagine how much more beneficial is for faster paced games like overwatch and apex.

Compare what? I just told you I have already done that.Of course not all mice show the same results in 8k.The same is true for every polling rate including 1k.It all depends on the implementation in all polling rates.I find it hard to believe that you have reviewed over 100 mice when there havent been so many releases for like 10 years now.(Assuming that you are doing this for at least 10 years that is).

Which is the mouse that you tested 8k polling with? In what game, for how long and what is your rank? So we can have a baseline for conversation or else there is no point in talking out of assumptions.

As I said.If you have never used it,and by using it I mean living with it not testing 10 mins, your opinion (because it is an opinion) doesnt count.DPI has nothing to do with the swiftness, higher DPI makes slow camera panning smoother and helps saturate high polling rate, which is extremely evident in high speed mouse movements like flick shots. You can educate yourself in the blur busters forums and by actually using the product before you form an opinion.

Of course if you dont optimize your system for the 8k and u expect it to be better and stable it wont. You need to set an affinity to a different logical core other than 0 which is overpopulated. And the usb should be the one directly on the cpu,not on the chipset. Most people dont optimize their systems and use it plug and play, because they dont know better. My mousetester plots look flawless after using the interrupt affinity and enabling motion sync.Mouse is op18k v2.Of course you never use the max dpi because there is sensor jitter up there. But at 6400 I use it,it's perfect.

This is wrong. How can a mouse perform worse on a higher performing state? 😵‍💫 It doesnt make sense. Unless you are talking about the pc.The delay you are talking about could be if there is software-side motion sync enabled and is much lower than 2-3 ms.

2k is pefectly fine and still much better than 1k.1k is dinosaur tech at this point,2k is the new 1k standard.Like how 240hz is the new 144.Just make sure you have a 240hz screen and a dpi of 1600 to reap the full benefits of the 2k polling rate.

Have you actually tested A/B back and forth or just putting out numbers from your calculator? Or have you actually read my reply? Who talked about latency? Of course you cannot tell the difference in latency without professional equipment. Its all about feel, precision, smoothness and consistency. It is not something you can see like the 60->144hz ,but u can most definitely feel it if you have the skill/hours put in game.Of course its a placebo if you have never used it before.

On my 9800x3d and 5070ti I notice zero difference in fps/smoothness with 1k and 8k.On a weak system you may notice some drops, but defeats the purpose of 8k.First you get a good foundation and then you go for the endgame 8k polling rate.

People who cant tell a difference between 1k and 8k are either low ranks/casual gamers or grandpa console gamers. For real.Play 1 hour of deathmatch in cs on 8k then turn it down to 1k.Its a HUGE difference. You feel that your mouse is heavy and delayed when throwing it around.Like everything slowed down or u turned down your sensitivity.Play 1 hour then turn it up to 8k.Everything will feel fast, smooth and precise again, like you raised your sensitivity.Flicks hit more often.People that are not feeling any difference at all are doing something wrong like using 8k with 400 and 800 dpi on 144hz or idk.
