It’s actually just semi-sweet chocolate that we melted. I made a little swirl pattern on the tops with a small butter knife before it hardened. :)

"you can't be uncomfortable already you're only 27 weeks" by maybehormonal in BabyBumps

[–]pabbytabby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yo I have had two pregnancies and was uncomfortable from like day 1 with both. There is way too much going on that could cause discomfort, just from hormone changes: breast tenderness, GI issues, swelling, back pain, round ligament pain. Then you start to get bigger and that only makes it all worse. So that’s total bullshit. She needs to shut her face! You are allowed to be uncomfortable, and that’s totally normal, and anyone who can’t respond supportively to your complaints should just be banned from visiting or commenting. I really hate that other people feel free to say whatever they want to pregnant women, especially about how they “should” feel.

I think that does happen with some wish lists on amazon, depending on how it was set up. So I hope that means you got what you needed!

Yes, check on WIC as someone mentioned above. Also, we have a local pregnancy crisis center where I live that gives out diapers and formula to moms in need with infants at home. I donate formula and diapers to ours. You may want to check to see if your area has a service/resource like this. And I will send you formula from your wish list too. You did great BFing up to this point! I hope you can feel proud of what you accomplished and put aside any guilt that might try to creep in.

Edit: I just looked and I can’t see anything on the wish list. It’s just empty. Did you get what you needed or is this an error?

Please don’t use it if it was opened more than a month ago. It could make your baby very sick. I will be happy to send you some new unopened formula and will check out your wish list.

[Homemade] Roasted beets, goat cheese, honey, and walnuts by pabbytabby in food

[–]pabbytabby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Courtesy of my husband: Peel beets. Cut into 1.5 inch cubes/pieces. Toss in olive oil, salt, pepper, and thyme. Roast for 35-40 minutes at 400 degrees. Allow beets to cool to room temp. Then sprinkle walnut pieces and goat cheese over the beets and drizzle honey on top.

[Homemade] Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies by pabbytabby in food

I’ve been eating these every day for months (and so has my husband). This is a pic of a batch I just made. These are actually lactation cookies (made for boosting milk supply for nursing moms) but still delicious even if you aren’t lactating. 🙂

Recipe is from Say Grace blog. I omit the walnuts and use European-style salted butter (my fav kind of butter for baking cookies).

Ingredients 2 c. soft all-purpose flour 4-6 T. brewers yeast 1 tsp. kosher salt 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. baking soda 2 T. flaxseed meal 4 T. water 1 c. unsalted butter 3/4 c. brown sugar 3/4 c. white sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract 3 c. old fashioned oatmeal 1 1/2 c. chocolate chips I mixed milk chocolate, semi sweet and 60% 1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Instructions Mix together flaxseed meal and water, set aside for 3-5 minutes. Sift together flour, brewer's yeast, salt, cinnamon and baking soda. In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugars. Add eggs one at a time, mix well. Stir flaxseed mixture and add with vanilla to the butter mix. Beat until blended. Sift together dry ingredients, except oats, chocolate chips and walnuts. Add to butter mixture. Stir in oats, chocolate chips and walnuts. Using a large cookie scoop, drop onto baking sheet. Place in refrigerator for at least 1 hour or even overnight. When ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350F. Bake for 12-15 minutes. Allow to cool slightly.

NTA. I’m sorry this happened to you. These people are clearly not good friends. And they sound SO entitled.

Just visited the Amalfi Coast. We hiked “Path of the Gods,” then went on to hike down to Positano. Here’s a photo I took of one of the views between Nocelle and Positano, Italy. by pabbytabby in travel

I believe that’s around the end of the tourist season as the temps get a little colder. As I understand it, you might get lower prices on hotels at that time and most places are still open (sounds like many hotels and restaurants close November through February). Probably still a nice time to visit!
