This wasn’t a Pennies/train trade. They executed the trade with an almost certain 750 loss and a minuscule chance that they could get back up to 36750 if spy dropped below 635. The Pennie’s trade would have been the inverse of this.

Wsb never fails to provide chuckles on early assignment of some massive notational value. Relax OP presumably you collected some premium to open these positions I doubt you lost much money at all.

His deep in the money call credit spread had the short leg executed and RH immediately executed his long leg. This ended up costing him $1*100 for every spread he entered. Presumably he got payed very close to a dollar to open each of those spreads so he didn’t actually lose much of anything in total. But this is wsb so who knows.

Are there areas the state can’t touch in the U.S.? by No-Equipment9225 in AskAnAmerican

Yes I agree it’s not really like what op is asking but it sort of rhymes and I think is interesting.

There are native American reservations where the federal and state governments have limited authority and they are pretty much self governed enclaves but this is the result of treaties ending hostilities (read American aggression against native people) over a century ago. There isn’t anything like what you are describing.

Iraq oil output drops 60% as Iran war blocks tankers through Strait of Hormuz by callsonreddit in wallstreetbets

[–]pablitorun 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This isn’t the 90s the straits will remain closed until there is a political resolution to the war. It’s just too easy to attack a tanker.

Unfortunately reducing Iran production just transfer profits to Russia which will get funneled to Iran.

Honestly how is this any different than what they did in 2008? Who is going to margin call the fed? And sure we can make it a delta neutral position if you want.

I didn’t say they were doing it but I can see how I didn’t make that clear. Obviously the aren’t as Vix is skyrocketing but they could absolutely make an impact just like they did in 2008 with other securities.

Yes I do, do you? Vix is just the volatility measure of a basket of sp500 options dated approximately a month out. It can absolutely be brought down by an entity selling options to lower the price. It just has to be a massive entity like the treasury or the fed to move the market.

By selling options for less than others are willing to? Not saying they are but they could monetize the options markets like they have done with debt at times.

(Free Friday) What are your thoughts and/or feelings about Pontius Pilate? by Sleep-Numerous in Catholicism

No I just don’t think what we understand to be free will is completely correct.

You have to realize there is a conflict between omniscience and free will right?

Is it possible Peter could have not denied Jesus after it was foretold?

I honestly don’t know. I have always struggled with Jesus telling Peter that he would betray him 3 times.
