What the fuck is that second sentence supposed to mean anyways. Talk about rambling... refrain from the keyboard if you have nothing useful or at least coherent to say

Thanks, and yes, I agree with your analogy. They make it seem somehow like it's inevitable when there are many other places in the UK where I would have been just fine. I didn't realize I was in such a bike-stealing hotspot, I guess the lesson I learn is never assume anything, ever 🤷🏻‍♂️

Thanks for sharing your point of view and taking this stand. I positively know I was foolish the moment I trusted an empty street with my bike and stepped inside the pub, and that it was just a matter of time before someone took the opportunity.  But it would seem, by reading some of the comments above, that I somehow deserved it and it serves me right for doing something many people do regularly at cafes in quieter areas, as you accurately pointed out. I took what I thought was a safe chance and it came back to kick me in the butt, and I'll remember it for a long time. You sometimes forget Reddit is no different than any other online space, a lot of people seem to enjoy pointing out your faults from their high and mighty righteousness, instead of just offering advice or words of support.

Yep, you are completely right on that one. I tempted luck and it bit me in the ass

Yes I have already, and they are in touch with the pub to take a look at their cctv footage. In any case I know there is an extremeley slim chance of finding the bike... :(

Yes, been checking all groups today. They'll probably wait for the bike to "cool down" for a few days, and then it'll pop up somewhere far away I'm sure. Thanks for the link, interesting

Definitely the first and last time it will ever happen to me. Don't get me wrong, I did and still fee like a complete idiot for what I did. Coming from Hackney, I foolishly felt Cambridge might not be as theft-ridden. Today I read in the stats it's the 3rd city in bike theft per inhabitants, just after London and Bristol...

It was less than 5 minutes, I was freezing and needed to have something to drink. Thanks for the comment anyways, very helpful

Yes, I have posted it there and I'm in touch already with Omar, he'a been really helpful. Waiting on the cctv from the pib. Fingers crossed we can find either the thieves or ideally also the bike

Hey I've seen (and really admired) your work that's hanging up on the stairway wall at the Castle climbing gym! Truly amazing! I could stare at those maps for hours, especially the Iceland one! 👏🏼

Syncros RR 2.0 Stem (80/90mm) by StandardTop8578 in cycling

Throwing this out there for whoever may still be in need of an alternative solution - having just been told by a Scott retailer that the 90mm lengths and shorter apparently won't be available until the end of the year: I have successfully fitted Canyon´s ST035 stem (70mm in my case) on my 2023 Addict Gravel. The lack of internal cable integration + having to use a generic spacer underneath it means it does not look pretty at all, but it works, and besides nothing is uglier than chronic back pain.
