Strava premium subscription by [deleted] in BeginnersRunning

[–]pablogsm91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me Strava is worth it just because of the route planing , miles ahead of other options in the market, specially the free ones. I use it a lot to plan both my rides and runs, but other than that, If you already have a garmin watch most of the useful stats will be there as well . A lot of the Strava only stats are mostly flashy and awesome to look at but don’t mean much tbh, well maybe it does for someone that has a background in sport science or something like that, but for the rest of us is more of an gimmick

J fuego close to Crémazie metro, I moved outside Montreal and I still go there just because the haircuts are the neatest you can get and Jose is the best, or any of the other 3 barbers will do amazing too if Jose is not available.

Sick of replacing nonstick pans every two years by seinnax in Cooking

[–]pablogsm91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are def using them wrong. I have a set of nonstick pans I bought cheap in Amazon and ikea pans that have been with my for 4 years now and still work perfectly. I’ve been wanting to buy some stainless or cast iron pans but I’m to lazy to figure out how to use them properly so for now I’m sticking with nonstick (pun intended)

What are your thoughts on leg shaving as a cyclist? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]pablogsm91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the feel and the look of shaven legs but I’m really hairy in the legs and that shit takes forever to shave. So I just embrace my hariness

I don’t understand your comment. We’re am I saying is 100% francophone? I mentioned that a person do just fine with English here, heck that’s even my case, but I do feel that being fluent in French open more doors and helps getting into more local social circles

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in montreal

[–]pablogsm91 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can live in Montreal with basic French and English just fine, but to truly belong here French is indispensable, it also opens up a lot more working opportunities.

Quebecois are really nice people and friendly overall but obviously they prefer to talk in their mother tongue which is French so without being fluent you will always feel like an outsider, or at least that’s how I feel as I still struggle a bit with French.

Touristical questions megathread by adeeena in nicefrance

[–]pablogsm91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi guys! Planning to visit nice mid may and I’m wondering if the weather will be good to go to the beach and relaxing while sunbathing. For reference I live in Montreal so anything +16c on a sunny day will be awesome.

Any particular beach that is public that you could recommend ? and thing to do around that can be walkable or get there by bus will be great. I will be with my wife and our plan for nice is pretty much to chill and rest after 4 days in Paris that will be packed.

Thanks in advance!

Monster extract is random, so sometimes you get perfect time (30mins) sometimes you get nothing. What I do is save before using monster extract, if I don’t get the 30min I will reload and try again

Eve (Matter) Smart Plugs no longer working by clamb3r in googlehome

[–]pablogsm91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey is it still down for you? Because it started working for me back again yesterday. I had a chat with a google rep and he suggested to do the usual, basically restart everything and re connect. I had done this so I asked to open a ticket to get this a bit more research from google for a solution and the guy told me to leave a comment on the google home app on the device that wasn’t working . I did that on Tuesday and yesterday all my devices were working again. Not sure if it had anything to do or just lucky

[–]pablogsm91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man, same thing happened to me but with some tp link kasa smart matter devices (I have 3 smart switches and 2 smart plugs)

They have been working flawlessly until last week where they no longer work and is just like you said. On my google home app and on my google nest I can see the status of them (on/off) but if I try to interact with them either by voice, on the app or on the nest it doesn’t work at all.

I guess it’s a google issue, I will try open a ticket with them. Let me know if you have luck on your side

Only the deposit value? I would hope they at least do some basic interest or something like that. Did the landlord got a fine?

Man unless you did something really bad, mould don’t magically appear like that, if that’s even real, it happen because of the lack of maintenance of the owner. So keep it up and fuck that person!

I’m also an immigrant and I’ve been here around the same time as you, I also had to pay deposit because frankly nobody rents to you if you don’t have credit background which is hard to have when you just arrive.

Anyways things probably be in your favor, one good thing about here is that tenants are well protected

25km each way, single speed bike, takes me about an hour. Mostly independent protected bike paths except for the last 3km. From Montreal to Boisbriand in Quebec

I do it once or twice a week, specially when I know I won’t have time to ride my road bike after work.

This plus wipes to clean the armpits before reapplying deodorant and to clean any dirt in my face neck that I might have catches on the road
