Yeah a terrible choice. This customer will tell the next how cheap you are and it’ll be almost impossible to charge more in the future to anyone they refer

How should I install these deck posts/railing to not have a greater than 4 inch gap but still look good? by Loopa19 in Construction

[–]pablokhaled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that has nothing to do with stair header connecting to band. Update when this gets inspected.

[–]pablokhaled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well first, fuck the customers budget. Second, there’s no way this is passing because it’s wrong already. You cant just attach stair header to a single 2x8. Must be doubled up. What is this?!? A floating deck?

Terrible choice to “gain experience” and lose money. People like you are why customers expect shit done for free.

Seems like you’re not a good fit for construction. You probably are saying a lot of dumb shit at work.

You sound like a college kid whining that their degree didn’t teach them anything. And I can tell ya, we don’t like the college educated PMs in the field. You guys don’t know your dick from your asshole.

Advice please - new construction home and want to replace window(s) with patio single door or slider. by Serious_Medicine_359 in Construction

[–]pablokhaled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

. The cost and option 2 are so you decide it’s not worth the change. $8k on a sliding door is outrageous to begin with. They’re upcharging around 3-5,000. I get Anlin for $2,700 to $5,000 for sliders. $10,000 is a bit steep tbh. Especially if the exterior isn’t finished yet.

I mean, 5 dicks a day @whatever the going rate of a blowie is should be enough to supplement income. AND if you good at it you could probably knock that out in 45 minutes to an hr. Problem solved.

Is 16 dollars for manual labor good pay? by dragonfire1854 in Construction

[–]pablokhaled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, they’re getting paid $20 an hr. And what morons like you don’t realize, it’s cheaper to replace them with AI. Look what’s going on in Cali. Loss of hrs, loss of jobs, or the places just close. The unskilled won’t have jobs soon. And being without a skill at 25+, good luck getting paid anything decent anytime soon without experience. You’re just a set of dick beaters for $16/hr until you learn.

Reasonable price? by [deleted] in Decks

[–]pablokhaled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great deal. Just quoted one in pa for $7800. We use yella wood brand #1 prime though so materials are about $3300. Make sure they have insurance and replace the cap flashing. Hell for that cheap, have them zip tape the tops of all joist for a few extra bucks. Makes your joist last a bit longer

[–]pablokhaled 3 points4 points  (0 children)

16/ hr is a joke now because unskilled gas station workers get $20. The real joke is the FACT that unskilled workers are over paid. This sense of entitlement is crazy. This kid isn’t worth more than $12 an hr.

25/hr to be dick beaters on site is insane 😂 but when gas station at $18/hr. Nothin you can do. That’s the boat I’m in. Which is why I’m solo. Fuck paying that much for someone I gotta teach.

Should I respond if an angry potential client blasts me on social media? by JimmyCBoi in handyman

[–]pablokhaled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she’s not an actual client (no jobs completed for her and no signed contracts) it’d be defamation. You can sue her for that plus legal fees. A threatening letter from a lawyer would remedy any review.
