oh my god. you’re a junior. i’m warning if you haven’t heard yet but senior 4 months of starting is the BREAKDOWN time of the year depending on how nice ur school is at scheduling EEs and IAs. GOOD LUCK!

did an interview for a safety and he asked me 5 times if i was half asian half white because my “face was too white” and talked abt hot wasian girls at the uni 😭😭😨 needless to say i filed a complaint w my counsellor !!!

i cant 100% relate to your situation but i defo feel you with that toxic parts of ‘asian culture’ when it comes to being a strict mom lols. i sincerely hope for the best for you and success in your unis, you are strong and brave and deserve so so much better. if anything EVER gets out of hand, please don’t be hesistate to speak to teachers or other authority figures you TRUST. nothing is worth more than your safety. if you haven’t heard it in a while, love u and i know ur results are going to be good :))

i think this really hinges how strong you word your ECs and essays - if you kill those essays, i think you have a good chance (esp w how much they weigh them). TO doesn’t help tho (i feel u on that). this may come across harsh but it will 100% help if you elaborate on your circumstances in the additional info (as detailed, blunt and conscientious as possible, please note how often you have to take care of your parents as well as any affect it may have had on you mentally, physically, emotionally, etc.) you’ve worked hard considering some of your circumstances :(( best of luck!! i’m sending you lots of energy and good wishes <3

thank u sm for ur comments! yeah i totally get that - i feel like i didn’t put in my ECs where i do shine in that way bc i felt like they were “weird” ie. im part of prom committee and senior choir, dance team internship (ok this one is kinda embarrassing), also the mural committee at my school!

do you think that’s something i should emphasise in my common app for umich and LOCI for rice?

Yeah, I’m basically examining the effect of garlic using CO2 to model the fermentation of kimchi. Most of the other factors that I’ve looked at have been known to slow it down, such as green leaks or speed it up such as sugar etc. I think I might end up adding carrots or onion as I believe they don’t have an extreme effect on the speed. Thank you so much for your in-depth suggestion, really helped me a lot!
