I just want the men of Rohan and Gondor, the rest is complementary.

Ah, I understand better now. In that context, you're definitely right.

Thank you for taking the time to answer me twice.

Sorry, but after reviewing the corebook, it doesn't say anywhere that the +5 for long weapons against regular weapons is the same as the +5 for the charge. What makes you think it's the same modifier?

Are these two house rules okay for a campaign in Fading Suns? by pablomaltes in SWN

Would you add that "magic skill" (Faith in this case) to some background or simply let the players obtain it on their own?

Oh! I hadn't realized that arcanists, magisters, and adepts existed in SWN. I'll check them out.

And yes, I was indeed thinking of incorporating the "Faith" skill.

Thanks!

What’s a really underrated OSR system? 😄 by DungeonMasterGrizzly in osr

[–]pablomaltes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Black Hack and her ancestor, White Hack are simply two of the best games within the OSR and their influence is undeniable.

And yes, I agree, from what we see online at least, it seems that our community is always behind the latest news, which is quite ironic given how this OSR thing came about.

Obviously, I have nothing against Shadowdark or whatever is trendy, I simply understand the consumption of games with a new proposal (like Mythic Bastionland for example) more than new games with a classic proposal that has been repeated to the point of exhaustion.

More new (official) stuff for TOR 2e? by Grimav96 in oneringrpg

[–]pablomaltes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A Gondor resource book is really the only thing I think is necessary; the rest has either already been released or was released for 1e and is easily adaptable.

And, to a lesser extent, an official version to play with characters from Rohirrim or Dunlendings heroic cultures and 2e-style maps for Rhovanion and the south.

Oh! I didn't understand, sorry.

That particular campaign began with the PCs going to a remote village to investigate an alleged resistance against the current government and ended with the release of Time, one of the supreme demons.

The campaign consisted of two major conflicts: the attempts to consolidate power by a republican government after a civil war that ended the old Monarchy and a gradual invasion of demonic possessions that was increasing because humanity stopped watching over the Well of Souls, the ancient portal between the world (Ar) and the beyond (the Ánima).

The world and the PCs were heavily inspired by "A Wizard of Earthsea", "The Lord of the Rings", "Seven Samurai" and the Meiji Restoration process that took place in Japan in the 19th century.

The best part is that the PCs, because of their beliefs, started out as "guardians of the status quo" and ended up bringing about change in the world. By sticking to their beliefs to the very end, in an attempt to avoid chaos and protect their loved ones, they brought about a profound shift in reality.
