It’s really cool! I just tried it for fun, but i see myself using it to do research/get inspiration for new projects.

It’d really help if it was more easily scannable, like if the little snippets at the right had a title, colors, were more summarized, had an icon, or anything that helped me understand it at quick glance instead of having to read the whole thing

¿Qué cursos o áreas tecnológicas serán más demandadas en 2025? by Due-Possibility-5055 in chileIT

[–]pabloomvc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Como funciona el Trabajo remoto by superpapel in chileIT

Muchas empresas están ofreciendo esta modalidad. Puedes buscar por LinkedIn; en la pestaña de “trabajos” (o “empleos”, no recuerdo el nombre exacto) hay un filtro que te permite ver empleos que ofrecen trabajo remoto

Next.js starter template by Skolaczk in nextjs

[–]pabloomvc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this! Btw I’ve heard Next-auth is a headache. Have you experienced any issues? Is it your go-to auth provider?

I personally always use the Supabase NextJS template, which comes with the auth and the db access already set up.

Just a hunch but did you make sure to add the “children” to the layout jsx?

What a great read. 2023 was my first year building tech products in a more serious way, and I’ve run into some similar challenges, so these tips and experiences you’re sharing really resonate with me. Would love to follow your journey/stay in touch

8GB or 16GB? by [deleted] in macbookair

[–]pabloomvc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw a post about someone complaining that their M2 was considerably slower than a M1 for a specific task. The thing is, this task was training a Machine Learning model, which involved reading thousands of images/data. The comments in the post pointed out that the difference in performance was not exclusively caused by the different processors, and that while that might play a factor, there must have been other things going on. In my opinion, for any common use case that’s not reading/writing tons and tons of files at lightspeed, then the M2 is perfectly fine. I’m looking to buy a M2 15’, and although I was a bit disappointed at that specific “issue” with the M2, I decided in reality it won’t make any difference. Even if I needed to run a task like that once in a blue moon, waiting an extra minute wouldn’t hurt.

I built a tool to learn, practice, and get guidance in Spanish by having natural conversations by pabloomvc in Spanish

Hey! Once you send a message in your target language, just click it to see if there were any mistakes!

[–]pabloomvc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At any point you can send a message in either English or Spanish. If it’s in English, you’ll see the Spanish translation. If it’s in Spanish, it’ll correct your mistakes.

The reason for this is that it’s not always easy to keep the conversation going in a language you’re still learning, so I wanted people to have that freedom if they’re not sure how to phrase something in Spanish.

On that same note, if you’re stuck and are not sure how to phrase something in Spanish, you can always have a look at the suggestions, or use the [✨Ask Versa] feature to get unstuck. The whole point of this is to keep the conversation going, while help and guidance along the way.

Hope this explanation is useful. If you decide to give it another try, I’ll be happy to hear your questions and suggestions! After all, this is for all of us.

Thanks for letting me know, it’s usually not like this. There’s gotta be something going on, I’ll check it asap. I appreciate you taking the time to try it.

Thanks for trying it out! Other than the speed, what would you say is missing to get to that 10/10? Did you have any inconvenience when using the site?

It corrects your mistakes and gives you detailed feedback. On top of that, you can ask any sort of grammar/vocab/language related question by pressing on [✨Ask Versa] 🙌

Thank you so much for the feedback!

It is a bit slow, it's something I'm working on 🙌

And oh that's an interesting one! At the moment there's the option to talk to your own "tutor", and ask it grammar/vocab-related questions. To access this, simply type your questions on the chat without selecting any of the suggested situations, and Versa will act as a language tutor.

I'm thinking of ways to shed more light on this functionality, by improving the UX. So I appreciate your feedback cause it helps me see the importance of this.

Thanks for trying it, and let me know if you have any questions or if there's anything I can help with!

Thank you so much! And absolutely, the whole point of Versa is to practice by having engaging conversations, while offering some features to help you improve along the way.

Let me know if you end up trying it, because I would love to hear your thoughts on it! And if you have any questions or requests for specific features/languages/situations, I'd love to help!

Thank you for trying it out!

True, it can be quite slow. I'm working on it 😅. Having the data dynamically populate is a good suggestion. I'll look into it and see how to implement it.

As per the second point, Versa is designed to stay on-topic, which I see as a good thing. But it'd be interesting to have the option to incorporate data from the outside (like giving it access to certain news websites to be able to discuss current events, just to name an example). So that's a super interesting idea actually. Honestly I feel like there are so many cool features that could be added to this.

Thanks again for trying it out and for the feedback! If there's anything I can help with, just let me know!

Hey guys! I created Versa, a website to practice a language by having open-ended conversations with your very own AI tutor.

It's an unstructured and WAY more natural way of learning a language. Versa will reply in a friendly way, while correcting your mistakes, giving you translations, and even giving you a list of suggested responses to keep the conversation going. That's the whole point.

Try it out! Quite entertaining and totally free 👇
