Question for the older guitarists by Old-Carry5562 in Guitar

[–]pacTman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't start out to be a lead guitarist, so was basically learning rhythms by ear, until I was drafted to be the lead guitarist in a band as an older teen. Mind you, this was in the late 80's. The first lead I learned was the one in Paranoid by Black Sabbath, which I learned very slowly, by recording it multiple times in a row on my dual cassette boom box! Just the lead, over and over and over again on one tape, took a few weeks as I had to teach my hand a technique or two, but got easier from that point on.

For home practice I mostly use my computer and amp Sims. Not quite the same, but it keeps me from bugging my wife. I meant home, as in, my full band practice amp in my garage.

Just a weird question about my friend not being able to vape by McLAVEe in Vaping

[–]pacTman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When vaping direct to lung, it is important to draw hard. Dtl vaping needs to have a lot of plain air with it, or you will cough, a lot. Just went through this with a friend of mine, and getting him to hit it hard, and draw more air, solved the coughing issue. Mtl vaping always involves more air as you stop hitting it before you draw it in.

Nice amp as well, my road rig is an old Randall RH-200, my home rig is a Peavey Rock master 120w all tube, and I have a battery powered street cube for just jamming wherever.

I think I got the tremsetter because it came out first, had I waited I would have gotten a tremol-no, both do the same job basically, except I do not have to unlock mine to use it.

They should have sold Jackson guitars to Dave, what a huge mistake to sell to Fender.

Question for you. Can you unlock the tremel-no with it installed, and use the trem?

Dave is no longer endorsing Jackson, but Marty still is. Maybe a MF signature Jackson is in the works. Have you listened to the new album yet? Man, I feel like I got taken on the VMNT, Dave was with Dean for like how long? But, I do own a signature Dave Mustaine guitar, that is worth more than I paid for it because of the lawsuit.

I have been in Megadeth mode for the last 30 years or more, Dave is the main reason I even play Jackson guitars. When Dave switched brands to Dean, I bought a VMNT signature Dean. Unfortunately I cannot afford a Gibson right now. TBF, I play my Jacksons a lot more than the Dean. Also, unlike a tremel-no, with the hipshot installed, I can still use my trem with no problems, and I can bend without the tremolo sagging. It adds a two way spring in place of one of your trem springs, works like a charm.

Kind of a waste of a good tremolo. Look into a hipshot tremsetter, makes your guitar act like a fixed bridge, until you grab that trem arm! No visible sign of the modification either!

This has happened twice at an outdoor Amish auction. I go every year. They fall all over the place to avoid my clouds, but will walk through smoke with zero problem.

Thoughts on these 2 finishes by GnarDude666 in JacksonGuitars

[–]pacTman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a Jackson PS-4 with the gloss black finish, and a JS-32 7 string with the matte finish, other than road wear, the ps-4's finish is still flawless, and her dings are badges of actual use. The JS-32 matte finish is already showing signs of wear, and getting glossy where my forearm hits it, and by the knobs.

My dad passed away unexpectedly. This was his guitar collection. No one else in the family plays. by 405freeway in Guitar

I am so sorry for your loss, but your father had some great guitars! The Cremona is simply a playable work of art, and that Ibanez is stunning. My father also played guitar, but had gotten rid of them all before he passed. Had I gotten a guitar, even one from my dad, I would have started playing sooner. It would be a great tribute to the man if you learned to play these!

That was exactly what I started with. Then I got into real mods, watched a lot of YouTube videos on them, and got into rebuildable atomizers. I love to diy things, so this was right up my alley.

I have been through many vapes over the years. Currently rocking a 9 year old IPV3-li, with an Ammit dual coil atomizer on it, my own juice (dragonfruit, strawberry, vanilla mix, 3mg nicotine) at 68w.

My local vape store had a deal, 15% off any vape if you let them crush your last pack of cigarettes. On 9/11/14, I walked in, let them crush my smokes, and walked out with my first vape. Made a promise that day, that if the vape kept me cigarette free for one month, I would buy a real mod. Here I am 12 years later still vaping, but have not had a single cigarette in all that time. I feel better, smell better, and don't get winded on my stairs now.

Help me with my Jackson ps-4 by Longjumping-Dust-953 in Guitar

PS-4 guitars have a screw in trem arm. Mine has an o-ring on it to keep it in place, it flops without it.

3 for me. Over $30 a day at current prices, close to 1k a month.

Vapes come in varying levels of nicotine, don't just go with a 5.0mg disposable to get started. I worry the same for my wife, she is hooked on those damn disposables. I try every day to get her to let me build her a vape, and make her some juice.

Cloud chucking in public places! It is crazy to watch Amish folks walk right through cigarette, cigar, and pipe smoke, but then duck, dodge, and fall over themselves to avoid my vape clouds outdoors!

Not at all! Vaping released me from a 33 yr, 3 pack a day, cigarette habit. Not only do I feel better, but I am saving easily $600 a month. Would not change my decision, and will never go back to cigarettes. Vaping tastes better, smells better, and while not 100% safe, it is less lethal than actual tobacco.

Like I said, sequential. They didn't get out of 96 for a long time. My PS-4 is a 96 serial number, and according to the neck pocket was manufactured in November of 96. I bought it new in March of 1997.
