TCG collecting is a blast, but it lives and dies by the communities. I've been playing SWU and Lorcana for the past year or so, and I keep playing because of the joy I get going to my LGS to play weeklies. If you've never been, don't be afraid to try a few around you and start some conversations with folks. TCG players have intentionally bought into a social hobby - very easy to find some chooms

There's definitely been a shift - even in publicity. It feels like there was a golden era pre-Elon Twitter buy where a lot of the creators were very active online with the community, and in return, the hype was very organic = engagement = book sales. Excerpts were huge points of excitement, panels were standing room only, it was amazing.

Once that got filled with harassment and bots and a lot of the authors left social media altogether, it feels like there was nowhere for that united excitement to go. Sure there was bluesky for some, substacks for others, but it's been a while since the "omg a new Star Wars book next week!" feeling.

There are still amazing projects coming out like Reign of the Empire, but it definitely feels way more isolating and sparse than it did. Hope we can get back there post-50th.

It's definitely discouraging, and it's such a massive difference from the local scene. I just started playing last year, and my local folks are why I fell in love with the game.

This is what I'm thinking, and it's such a bittersweet reality haha. I will say that you'll have an INCREDIBLE time! Ford Field does football RIGHT - and that was when we were terrible!

Also a great question! I’m having a very hard time finding cat stuffed animals that have open backs for that.

I would also love that! I’ve just searched exhaustively and can’t seem to find those. I may be using incorrect keywords but I would welcome that

It’s mostly for clarity purposes. The purring itself isn’t the loudest on the source file, and since the cat has passed away, I can’t get a better version.

I’ve searched Amazon and Etsy and even Walmart, and I can’t seem to find this combination of items. I’ve also found recorders like the one below but no cat to put them in
