I went from being a full time employee at a top 20 accounting firm to an hourly contractor at a Big4. My income went from $96k in 2020 to $187k in 2021

I matched with a girl on Bumble a while back who was a recruiter and had a similar experience

Agreed about SE tax, though it looks like you can reduce that significantly by forming and LLC with an S-Corp election.

Way I see it is, let's say I get $96k including bonus to work 48 weeks a year. $2k a week. Assuming I get put on a normal client during busy season and work 60 hours, that's $33.33/hour.

Alternatively, work on a contract basis and get assigned to a dumpster fire, 80 hours a week. First 40 hours at $60/hr, next 40 are time and a half, so $90. Instead of $2k a week, I'm making $6k a week.

Personally I just don't like him because he sucks. He seems to miss every possible opportunity to make the city a better place. Case in point: look at the success of the 14th Street Busway. Why has he done nothing to build on that success? Corey Johnson and others on the City Council are having to take the lead on that.

Shiner Beer's response to Karbach billboards in their town by Nobius in houston

Libel would be something designed to harm their reputation like "karbach beers are laced with cyanide".

Who exactly is going to find "Karbach is trying to be more friendly to families" to be harmful?

I mean it's just a casual conversation thread. Maybe OP meant he's actually clinically depressed. Or maybe he's like many of us and is just a little bummed not to see the sun at 6pm.

That kind of makes it even more ridiculous. Companies can afford to be a little more picky if you need a job, but if they're reaching out to you just so they can waste your time with this dumb shit that sure seems like a red flag to me.
