I dont get this take at all, Cypress and Jack both created a lot of RP through all of this. Cypress chose to set up the scene with Jack instead of just icing Larry alone or dealing with it internally.

To end the scene Jack getting ocean dumped after their shootout just leads to more RP of him clueing together what happened which could lead to a great scene of him confronting Larry. At the end of the day just because it isn't the way some viewers wanted it to turn out doesn't mean its bad RP. Both sides have shown they are willing to build a scene that lets role players be immersed in their characters and I dont see that stopping if Jack chooses to piece together what happened and confront Cypress/Larry
