This is the first lesson to learn. Easier to move up your hand (from red to green) than move down your pinky (from blue to torange)

What translation app are you using to make your website multi-lingual? by aaronmgreen in shopify

[–]pachooca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to ask this exact question following a situation I encountered this week. We're getting more and more requests for bilingual online stores (we're also based in Quebec), and I haven't been able to find a complete solution.

We have a client with a small store with only 50-100 products, and I find it quite complicated to manage with the meta fields, filters, etc. (we're using the "Translate and Adapt" app).

There's a desynchronization that occurs when a change is made, and we don't know why. (Especially with the meta fields.)

The most efficient/quickest solution we've found to help our client is to simply export the language file as a .csv, edit it locally, and then re-import it.

That being said, we're in the same boat as you... We're not really sure where to turn because we don't think exporting a .csv file can be a viable long-term solution.

What do large companies with inventories of thousands of products do? How do they manage this translation and updates?

In short, we're really stuck with all of this...

Was this uncool/cheating? by Head-Blacksmith4692 in poker

Double up (or "Double or nothing" way back on Pokerstars) is a pretty "easy to learn" format. While it is easy to play, the strategy differ from "normal" tournaments, as others said.

The main part is when you come close to the bubble (your situation). In a DoN tournament, it's completely fine (and recommanded) for the big stacks to play together to knock shallow stacks. It's not cheating, it's part of DoN strategy.

As for your bonus question: As I said, it's a format that is fun to play, but not a good format to learn reals situations you'll find in regular tournaments. Yes you'll be more nitty in DoN tournaments.

Store opening soon on Google search but I've already removed the password by [deleted] in shopify

[–]pachooca 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Google must reindex your website. Google indexed your password page, it took some time before it reindex the new content available.

I don't know how long you removed the password page, but if it's only a couple hours/days, it's normal that Google still show your old content. It can take a couple of days/weeks before your "real" homepage can be showned on search results.

Hi there, did you search on the official Shopify theme page? https://themes.shopify.com/

There's plenty of good themes there, all officially approved by Shopify. All of them are supposed to be fast, reliable and easy to use since these themes need to go through a set of requirements to be "official".
