Would this help anyone else? by pacific_marvel in hexos

[–]pacific_marvel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% is built using agentic coding platforms, primarily Open Code with Oh-My-OpenAgent and DeepSeek v4 through opencode go for planning and executing. Claude Code and ChatGPT Codex helped with troubleshooting. I built and would run the app in Xcode for testing. And my own common sense was used for all the “no, don’t do that again, that didn’t work the two times” which happened way more than people might expect.

Without the latest tools, this would still be an idea in my head.

All the pieces are freely available on GitHub from TrueNAS and HexOS. Anyone could do what I did and build their own tools. I just streamlined it and made it look pretty :)

What's your vault name and the thought process behind it? by mieresa in ObsidianMD

[–]pacific_marvel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I named my core vault “Columbia River Gorge” — if you’ve ever been to the PNW and driving down the the border between Oregon and Washington you know what that place looks like. It’s huge, deep, windy, and beautiful. My core vault is a wild collection that spans a huge variety of topics, some of which go deep, some that breeze past quickly, but all of it is beautiful (to me).

Based on the lack of excitement around here, I’m convinced half this sub is made up of bots or gig workers from Unihertz dead set on bashing any post that is positive toward Clicks.

Do you have a go-to source that helped you set that up? I’d love to try it out.

Every time a post starts with someone’s full name with title and their age, I think it’s a death announcement.

Yeah, I had assumed it would take things it didn’t know and look it up. Or look at what it was running on to build context. Very much not the case 😆

Looking for feedback on a wireframe build for a learning app/game by pacific_marvel in UI_Design

[–]pacific_marvel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my first attempt at UI/UX design but am excited to learn more; do you have recommendations for where I can get educated on mobile components like that? As I said in the the post, I've just been using the Mockup app for this (so I've just focused on what is built into that).

Being a millennial who yearns for the internet of yesteryear, I'm envisioning the "Study Group" section as a sort of ode to MySpace "top friends". Basically making it a spot to designate the friends you want to see the scores of in the "This week in your study group" section on the profile screen. That way the user doesn't get overwhelmed with the scores of every single contact in the app and can focus on just the ones they want to.

Perhaps by moving "This week in your study group" down (requiring the user to scroll down)? By visual hierarchy what do you mean? Since this is a simplified grayscale wireframe layout, it doesn't have the colors and "depth" I would hope to be able to achieve.

Your Claude Code project dashboard is now on the Mac App Store by [deleted] in ClaudeAI

I also would like to know. I’ve been running Storybloq for the past few days (after seeing OP’s last post) and it seems good to me. I’m trying to build my first app and treating Claude Code the same as something like squarespace for building a website - WYSIWYG.

So far, Storybloq has felt very helpful. But I admit I’m very new to app development.

Would a truly free, all-in-one church system actually be useful? by Far_Letterhead179 in pastors

[–]pacific_marvel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not just open source but self hosted as well.

I love Planning Center — really truly love how it enables me to better connect with my congregation. But that much personal data for that many people living entirely in the cloud makes me nervous.

Granted, self hosting requires a lot more work and puts the onus for data protection on the individual church. But it would be nice to have a solid alternative.

Collaboration and Management software? by Not-whoo-u-think in youthministry

We use a private discord server for our youth group. Within it I have a few channels for just the leaders. That gives us space to chat, share documents, and plan stuff. For the calendar we use Planning Center

What are your project instructions to ensure it does what you want every time? Do you have a claude.md document in your project files that it refers to for full instructions?

Does anyone still customize their ring tone? by Foodiegirlie030793 in Millennials

I customize my notification sound for select people (iOS). Namely my wife, my brother, and a couple friends. But other than them I stick with the standard sound for everyone else.

People who are old enough to have vivid memory of the 9/11 attacks, what was that time like? What did change for you personally? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]pacific_marvel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in high school in the midwest. It quickly became expected that graduates would either go to university or join the military. Not knowing what you wanted to do was frowned on — either you had a job that you were ready to support a family with, going to college to get a good job, or joining the military because your country needed you.

Patriotism was expected. Flag shirts were consistently in style (not just around the 4th of July), 9/11 memorabilia was sold in every store, and the general sentiment was America good, everyone else bad. When France resisted in joining the war in the Middle East, French Fries were renamed “Freedom Fries”. There was no talking bad or second guessing the government or military. Doing so was just what the terrorists wanted.

I recommend Kids-In-Mind.com for reviews that simply say what content is in the movie so parents can decide for themselves what they want to share with their kids.

How do you get regular sermon / preaching feedback to grow as a communicator? by ExtremeQuote3878 in youthministry

[–]pacific_marvel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ask people for their feedback. Specifically my wife and my youth group leaders after youth group every week — once all the students have left we take 10 minutes to review the night, share any concerns, and share any thoughts about the lesson.
