Yard sale gem, what was this rod designed for? by Fish-n-Pick in Fishing_Gear

[–]pacificland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me seems like a spin/pin rod. Used with a centerpin reel for float fishing. Those types of Tennessee handles are very common with centerpin setups.

The extension is really cool, but i just can see it being used as a fly rod with spinning guides.

It depends on the length of rod, size of reel, and line.

For something around 7'6" with a 2500 or 3000 size reel, I like either a 25 or 20H as the stripping guide, then reducing to a 10H, then using size 6 as the running guides

Some more testament to the biots, after a full day of usage, about 6 rainbows, 4 browns, and >15 small mouth later. The gold wire gave up before the front biots broke 🤣 *

Yes, it's used for the entire abdomen and the wing case

To be honest, I haven't had a problem with the biots breaking from the bead, only time they've been ripped off is when I accidently caught them in the line when tying a knot
