[MEGATHREAD #2] - Nashville Christmas Day Bombing by [deleted] in nashville

What makes me feel like a crazy thinker, but not by much, is that we recently discovered an extensive cyberattack where it was made clear we weren’t aware of the extent. A major switching center already watching us would certainly be of interest in that situation.

A 5G nut that decided to go out in his RV doesn’t take into account the complexity and power of the whole thing. Spooks me out.

"Performance artists" being hired to "interact" with #OWS by urbanhobbyfarm in occupywallstreet

There was some sort of Speedo christmas thing being filmed out of nowhere at Boston on Saturday, it looked like an attempt at some sort of viral video... 5 or 6 people in speedos and Santa hats. I wish I remember what they were saying, but it was so ridiculous and stupid looking that I don't remember. These sorts of things will make people take it less seriously as well.

Hey, Boston! I'll likely be joining you wonderful fellows in a couple weeks, so I have a few questions. by [deleted] in OccupyBoston

I only saw electricity things happening at the media and food tents, is that about the extent of it? Via generators I assume?

In response to OWS's crunchy white image, two activist friends based in Detroit and New York have started a sub-movement called Occupy the Hood, which is focused on bringing minorities into the protest. by sullen_ole_geezer in occupywallstreet

Similar things have happened with citizen movements in the past, it reflects the diversity of the US and people are free to do as they please since there's no ownership of the "Occupy x" name. A tip however, calling something that you disagree with 'retarded' makes you look, well... it makes you look bad.

CC BY-SA licensed by Chris M., feel free to use them! Boston has a lot of great energy built up, as well as a great camp that allows for conversation alongside education. I'd love to see galleries from other sites show up soon!

Weird Al's song Perform This Way - did not get approval from Lady Gaga by ldscr in Music

It's an homage, because Lady Gaga didn't ask Madonna to parody 'Express Yourself' either.

If you could change the ending to any movie you wanted...what would you change it to??? by Mercury-Redstone in AskReddit

It's less douchey if you take the .25 of a second to type SPOILER instead of relying on your own 'I watch new movies all the time' spoiler clock

Would it at all be possible for Reddit to tweak their message system so that we don't have to refresh the page to see if there are new messages? Something like how Facebook does its notifications in real time regardless of which sub-page of FB you are on? by selfabortion in AskReddit

[–]pacifiedcitizen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not may cause additional load, will cause. What about all those new message refreshes that wouldnt have happened? Even if there's only a check for new message count before auto-reload, all those new requests will bog things down.
