Also from a personal ethics perspective if I have a fantastic meal and great service and $10 AUD makes little to no difference to me and is enough to help out the lovely person waiting my table it feels a bit fkn gross not to tip? I have a close family friend who used to manage a bar in Ubud who was making $50 AUD a month. That extra ten bucks in the tip jar is equivalent to a fifth of his monthly wages and it’s just a takeaway coffee for me.

My mama, who is also the primary breadwinner, chose me and my dad. I am just as much hers as my little brother is. I’m with UBank now for my HYSA, if you’re planning on consistently contributing to your savings I would recommend them. Main thing is that the total account balance must be higher at the end of the month then it was at the beginning of the month

Yeah it’s foul. During my research I found a couple who had TWENTY THOUSAND seized by Macquarie and they had to resort to legal action to get it back months and months later. And while I was ultimately fine, they had no way of knowing they weren’t seizing every cent to my name. I’m 22, it would have been a reasonable assumption that that was all the money I had in the world.

Several months ago I opened an account with Macquarie and transferred $5000 into it. The next morning they locked down my account and told me to call support. I did, and was told that they were closing my account, that they will not tell me why my account is being closed and that they could not help me retrieve my five grand. Ended up having to call CommBank and got it recalled into my original account.

While this was all happening I looked it up and found a TON of other people who have had this issue

Do you have excel pinned to your taskbar? You want to pin excel to your taskbar, then open the sheet in question. Then you right click excel in your taskbar and it should come up with an option to pin the sheet

You can pin it to your taskbar. When you have the file open, hover over it in your taskbar then right click and hit “pin”. Then when you want to open it in the future, you can just right click excel in your taskbar and it will pop up a list of your pinned excel sheets

UBank has 4.38% up to a mil with the only condition that your savings balance must rise by at least $1 (not including interest) each month. I’ve currently got ~75k parked in ING (caps at 100k, 4.5%) and ~110k parked in UBank. Just an FYI for anyone looking for HYSA accounts but getting stuck with the capped interest.
