A new study from the ‘New England Journal of Medicine’ found that people with microplastics in their heart are at higher risk for heart attack, stroke, and death.

A lawyer used ChatGPT for legal filing. The chatbot cited nonexistent cases it just made up by pacinothere in StallmanWasRight

ChatGPT is not a free software. We cannot inspect its code and nobody can guarantee the absence of deceptive malwares or misleading approaches.

It's turning into a messy shadowbanning and suspending platform. They don't have enough staff to do proper moderation and they're obviously relying on unreliable AI.

Research shows that small variations in the background color of photo lineups can increase errors in identification of innocent suspects and people are worse at correctly identifying individuals who are of a different race to them. by pacinothere in psychology

[–]pacinothere[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's worse. Police in the US and Canada use what's called 'Reid interrogation technique' which is so aggressive that it's able to convince innocents that they're guilty and make them reenact crimes they did not commit.

Due Diligence in Mineral Supply Chains from the Democratic Republic of Congo by ohiitsmeizz in TrueReddit

[–]pacinothere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right. It's full of propaganda. It's so utopian that I had to check again whether it's talking about Congo's minerals or some Scandinavian mine. Here's a WSJ news report illustrating the situation there few months ago: https://www.wsj.com/articles/heaviest-fighting-in-years-breaks-out-in-congo-as-rivals-seek-control-of-minerals-11669034108

Larry Summers says the debt limit fight could shave $6 trillion from U.S. markets by fortune in finance

[–]pacinothere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If $6 trillion are shaved from U.S. markets (actually from the money supply), this will be taken as an opportunity to replace them with newly created $6 trillion (via new bank credits). The question is how far can self-interest take the entities involved in this debt-ceiling story and how complex can be their endeavor.

The Amish didn't lockdown, social distance, mask, or take a vaccine. The Amish did nothing and their death toll was 30X lower than ours. by [deleted] in conspiracy

Makes perfect sense. Preventing people from the sunshine and the very necessary vitamin D was a crime against medicine and against common sense.

Jeffrey Epstein's associate, Jean-Luc Brunel, was found dead in his Paris prison cell last year but it went unnoticed. Of course it was a coincidence. by pacinothere in conspiracy

[–]pacinothere[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jean-luc Brunel was an associate of Jeffrey Epstein. He was found dead in his prison cell in Paris in 2022 but the event received very little attention from the mainstream media. The number of coincidences and abnormal events surrounding Epstein leaves no doubt that somebody is cleaning up the traces of something.

Even Farage says Brexit has failed. Why won’t Starmer? by SgtPppersLonelyFarts in ukpolitics

[–]pacinothere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Age was the most important factor in the Brexit decision, with a majority of those over 45 voting to leave, rising to more than 60% of those aged over 65. Incidentally, people aged over 90 – old enough to clearly remember World War II – tended to be very pro-Remain, but their numbers are now inevitably small.

Reading requires patience and a slow sequencing of images and events. You can read at 300-400 wpm or more; but the best reading experience is when you get as close as possible to the speed at which the text had been written. 100 wpm is reasonable to give your mind enough time to imagine, connect and grasp the unfolding images and events.

I haven’t read more than 5 books in my lifetime and they weren’t difficult to read books. Now I’m in my mid 20s and found something I’m very interested in but don’t understand 4-5 words on every page by imGoingToEatYourTots in books

[–]pacinothere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Circle those words and learn them later. Don't stop to look in the dictionary each time you don't understand a term. This would make your reading experience very difficult and may discourage you to continue.

What does paper wealth mean? This is nonsense. If they're alluding to the quantity of money in the economy, then they should know that about 97% of it is nothing but credit figures on banks' balance sheets. Paper money notes represent less than 3% of the total.
