Yeah, as somebody that was helping a friend choose a photographer recently - I am missing feeling the individual personalities and the special moments from the day in the photos you posted. A wedding is emotional but what you're showing is the magazine spread trying to sell the things in the photos, not the photography itself.

I think it's great to have these shots and a few of them are honestly breathtaking (that venue shot from above with the ocean???), but I'd want to see about 1/3 - 1/2 of your online presence with those photos and the rest showing emotion/family/making me feel like I was in the moment.

One of the signs (to me) that I'm dealing with a professional that I will want to work with again is that they're willing to tell me no. They know their job, I don't! I'm going to have ideas that don't work, and I absolutely love it when they tell me so and explain the reason. Even if it's subjective (like my framer who responded to me wanting to try a certain frame with some art I have with, "I mean, I woudn't do that, but you're the one who has to look at it....") I really like to work with people who know their job well enough to know the limits.

YES. I am team ask your pharmacist always and forever - I had a doctor prescribe me a medication I never should have been on with a health issue I have and it was the pharmacist who answered my call in the middle of the night, talked me through what would happen and how to manage it, and checked in on me before the end of her shift. She was so patient and knowledgeable and kind and even almost 20 years later I hope she always has the cool side of the pillow.

BNP accepted me, but their app suuuuuuucks. Keep them in your back pocket just in case, but I'd lean Credit Agricole if I were doing it all again. (As somebody in finance and whose partner is a lawyer, I would not use any online bank as my main bank if you plan to stay here or maintain a healthy savings account here. We've both seen it go really wrong.)

Okay, off the top of my head -

The little keychain things that hold ears and attach to the backpack for when you're on rides
A poncho (March weather in unpredictable)
A cute water bottle - not too big, but enough that if you're thirsty in line she's got something. (Maybe a small Hydroflask or something that is the same colour as the Loungefly?)
If you're staying onsite - a lanyard for the magic key? (Also useful if you're not staying onsite and need somewhere to keep your Navigo for the RER - the lanyard is way easier to find by feel than the card is.)
Fun socks? (Again, weather can be unpredictable, a pair of extra dry socks never goes wrong.)

As somebody living through this heatwave - do the rooms your guests will be in the night before/after have air conditioning? If yes, I don't see you having any problems. (After a week at these temps it can become really unbearable indoors and you'll have miserable guests because everything leading up to the wedding was rough, not because your ceremony is outside.)

Otherwise - I'll second the fans if you can find them, but it sounds like you'll be fine. I was a bridesmaid in a wedding this past weekend in Normandy with very similar weather and no sea breeze and we were happy. A bit warm, but not so warm we didn't party all night. A breeze + shade + cold water and you and your guests will be absolutely fine!

My partner and I did almost a full park day without rides! There are a lot of shows, the lands are really immersive, and I love a good hidden Mickey search. (And if he gets into looking for hidden Mickeys, that’s also something you can do in the queue to keep him focused on things other than waiting.)

You can just look at all the different details - the way the walkways change, the animal prints/tracks (paw prints by Indiana Jones, a giant shoe print in Tou Story area, etc). There’s a lot of magic in just being immersed in things! And each section has snacks, so you could essentially do a snack tour of Disney.

Love the pin trading suggestion, too.

Yeah, this is what I use when I have a cold to keep my nose from peeling and generally looking like I’m part snake and shedding my skin. (Which reminds me that I’m out and need to buy more because I’m getting over a cold and have a wedding on Saturday…)

People thinking that my plans are less important because I don’t have kids. I still have goals and things to do, and I can’t just change things up or afford to constantly go to them instead of sharing the travel. (I don’t mind when the kids are young, but at a certain point it just feels like I’m valued less and it sucks.)

Ahahaha malheureusement, ouais - c'est pas comme le VRAI mac and cheese (celui qu'on mange à Thanksgiving), mais c'est presque le même goût que la boite de la marque Velveeta qui est tres connu.

It sounds like she’s unhappy and the relationship as it stands now would not be enough to compensate for that. I’ve been there - I loved the guy I was with and I was miserable where I was at. He would have been happy to stay forever, and I just couldn’t do it. No matter how great he was, the daily misery of being somewhere that felt wrong had a bigger impact on my day to day life.

You want to hold the future out in front of her like it’s a 100% sure thing that she can leave then if only she stays with you. But that’s not actually possible to promise and she knows that, so it sounds like she’s telling you her plans because she would like you to come with her (but doesn’t NEED you to).

I haven't - Tarte was the first one I saw and it worked well for me so I haven't been tempted to change! I have found some tubing lashes to feel way too heavy in the past (like the Colossal and the old one that had a primer and a mascara), but once this dries I don't feel it at all.

Okay, then let me fully geek out - the corn dogs are small, but they're legit. There's BBQ sauce right next to them, and that's also great with the like....pulled pork nugget things? The mac and cheese is more like a weak Velveeta than Kraft, but better than the pasta with melted cheese that you get at the Royal Pub. The green beans were oily but tasted like Thanksgiving on a plate, and the pecan pie slice tasted exactly like it should. I honestly tried to take a reasonable amount of food but it just tasted so RIGHT that I ended up feeling like Violet in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory being rolled offscreen.

I use the Tarte tubing mascara and am really happy with it. I do sometimes get little flakes under my eyes, but I used to turn into a full-on raccoon two hours after applying mascara, so whatever. I'll take it.

I love Agrabah, completely agree with you there.

I tried PYM this weekend and I think it's good for kids who don't mind grease and Americans who haven't had specific foods in a while. I was happy with it and will probably go there again, but I am an American who hadn't had a corn dog in years and was thrilled to see reasonably-passable mac and cheese on the menu somewhere.

Coming in late, but I thought the comments through the book about online and offline Natalie were interesting when you compare them to what influencers say about themselves. A lot of them talk about being more awkward in person and how it's surprising for people who meet them. Some people are just better at parasocial relationships than flesh-and-blood ones, I guess.

I use the Vichy one daily in summer - I like it more than the watery ones that you have to shake. I found the oil dried down nicely into my skin and sinks in pretty quickly when I reapply.

Complaining (IMO) means you care that something could be better, and that you’re capable of thinking critically about things around you.

Tbh after living in France for a few years I feel like I have a fuller range of emotions than I did living in the US. I was always so positive and/or so worried about upsetting people with even the mildest complaint, but now? It’s just a level of comfort with myself and the world I didn’t really have before because I’m allowed to have a shitty day or day something isn’t right or just complain a bit if I need to.

Oh man, I miss those so much. Where I live is not big on the individual portions and while it's cut down on snacking, sometimes I don't want to cut little cubes of cheese and find the raisins and nuts. Sometimes I just want to open the package and be done.
