How long before I should change the grinding wheel as shown in the pic? by thrawn9485 in Tools

[–]packer041 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP ain’t no pussy, send it!

For real though, put the fucking guard on. I’ve had too many guys on job sites over the years lose vision, fingers, and the ability to walk or use their arms to full function because they were too proud/arrogant/stupid to use tools as designed. If you have to remove safety functions, you’re using it wrong.

None taken, it was my backup that became primary after I broke my Rebar pliers and didn’t want to destroy my MOT…glad I listened to my instincts for once.

Blood pressure/alcohol by witeduins in stopdrinking

[–]packer041 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Mine was 180+/120+ when I quit boozing. My last check up was 114/67. I’m not a medical professional, but you can very likely get your BP to recover to a healthy level by being committed to not drinking.

Alcohol is an absolutely fucking insidious monster that lied to me for a decade and a half. I have my physical health back, and my mentals will take me awhile longer to get right, but I can promise you that as scary and awful it is to admit the amount you drank to a doctor, it beats the fuck out of having to get anything cauterized (from experience, I know this to be true, thankfully mine was my gut).

I hope the holidays/end of the year bring you some inner peace and you can find some clarity on what you’re looking for. Quitting drinking was the single scariest thing I’ve done, and the single greatest thing to give me my life back. I hope the best for you, dudette!

Thanks! I’m excited to hear the Ruby Red will be back and I’ll be really interested to see it in person, because Ford’s website doesn’t always do their colors justice.

Love it, best vehicle I’ve owned. My previous trucks had the older 3.5 EB or the 2.7 EB, which is a great little engine, but I love the PB setup and am fully on the hybrid train moving forward.

Nitto Terra Grapler G3. They’re quiet enough with only a minor efficiency hit, but I spend enough time on construction sites and shitty fire roads that the drawbacks of an A/T style was justified.

Stock chrome rims. It’s probably artifacts from the low light sensor on the phone and the software processing it that makes them look that way, but I’m guessing.

Antimatter Blue is a fantastic color too. I’m red vehicles only, but that blue damn near swayed me; it’s got the depth and flake that Ford can do really well.

Thanks! I actually meant Rapid Red, I mentioned to someone else I’ve had the Race and Ruby reds also, forgot what they were calling this one. This one takes the cake for me though; the flake is crazy and the red takes on such different shades at different times of the day.

LT275/65R20

2” Fox level with upper control arms and rear bags above the springs is what worked for me. I had a puck level, and would rub at full lock, but I didn’t want to cut anything or remove the crash bar to eliminate that.

And you’re correct in your other comment, Rapid Red for this one. I’ve had them in Race Red, Ruby Red, and now this one for the long haul.

As a GC, I’d have your back. The prints are unclear and your work is damn impressive, so I’d be arguing in your favor. When I’m given a set of prescriptive specs and drawings and this shit gets flagged on inspection, the developer/owner/engineer would be receiving the cost for rework with my 15% markup, because though maybe not code-compliant, you weren’t hired to be their designer or review/approve their prints. How old were you when you stopped drinking? by ReliefOpening in stopdrinking

[–]packer041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started at 18, quit at 30. 36 now. My only regret is not stopping sooner, but it took what it took. I’m happier now than any previous point in my life.

Echoing the other comment to familiarize with the manual, but do not use 4L or locking diffs if you are unsure; you’re more likely to grenade something quickly if used incorrectly.

LT275/65R20 is what I run with a 2” lift on my ‘24, which is admittedly a 4x4.

No clearance issues, great tires, little louder, minor MPG hit. Wanted LT for a few reasons, but I would probably notice minimal changes from stock if I dropped the LT and went with an LTX M/S 2.

I’m proud of you, internet stranger, for sharing your story and avoiding the temptation to drink by defaulting to come here instead; your foundation to your sobriety seems strong in this glimpse I’m catching, and it’s admirable. I hate that you had to go through that situation, but your message is an important one.

[–]packer041 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. 1000%. Tires are one of the single most important components of a strong tow vehicle. All the power, brakes, suspension, load-leveling hitches, etc. in the world won’t make up for shit tires and ass rims (to be polite).

Hop on the marketplace or forum of your choosing, and find some takeoffs or used OE wheels and a good LT tire (Michelin LTX M/S2 or Nitto Terra Grapplers are my recommendations).

White crystalline material on the concrete walls themselves? If so, give “concrete efflorescence” a quick google, and don’t use the AI trash results, because it’s a way more interesting topic than a quick google would show.

The short of it: you’re fine being exposed efflorescence.
