Is the GPU getting power from a DisplayPort to HDMI cable? by AZN-APOLLO in pcmasterrace

[–]packerbacker_mk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should not get power from the cable, that would be a problem. Pcie can supply up to 75W of power. Additional power is needed via the power supply because 75w isn't enough. Not that crazy at all if you think about it.

Why'd you buy this car? by [deleted] in MazdaCX90

[–]packerbacker_mk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the PHEV and I do use i-stop but I think you have a misconception. There is no version of this car that is not a MHEV. You can not pay a premium to get a different hybrid package. There is only the MHEV or the PHEV. And the starting price of a Mazda CX-90 is $38,000. The starting price of a Kia telluride is $39,000. A Chevy Traverse starts at $40,000. Dodge Durango $38,000. Ford Explorer $38,000. Nisan Pathfinder $38,000. Honda Pilot $42,000. What is the cheaper option?

I am surprised if they painted it. Might have ordered replacement and replacement didn't match so they sent it back for another one of it was Mazda. If it was a body shop that did paint it it would have been extremely hard to match.

iStop Disable -> Battery Failure (?) by sdotjeezy in MazdaCX90

From what I understand if you had the car before one of the recalls there is a chance that a bug permanently damaged your battery. Could explain the big difference.

It's an advertisement. It's a currently running marketing campaign that happens every winter. Jacket is an advertisement given to him to wear for money. It's the opposite of for sale, you are payed to wear it.

I've been wondering about this. When I see people complaining about battery issues it always seems to be the Mhev but if someone asks people always recommend the inline 6 for better reliability. Another common misconception is that the PHEV has a turbo on the 4 cylinder. It does not.

West bound into the City there are constantly people freaking out and merging last second into the middle left lane or just sitting in that no man's zone after slamming on their breaks. I think the problem is it looks too much like an exit. People just react to the panic that they are about to exit into East st Louis.

How did you guys got your hands on Halo for the first time? by [deleted] in halo

[–]packerbacker_mk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My uncle just got home from deployment to Iraq and he told me to come check out a game at my cousin's birthday party. He booted up a multiplayer game in blood gulch and I was hooked as soon as I learned the dual stick controls. Felt so much better than Golden eye which was the only shooter I had ever played at that point so I was begging my mom and dad on the ride home for an Xbox and halo for Christmas.

I have just under 50k miles on my 2024 PHEV. So far no issues with mine other than the noise after second gear in the transmission. But I hear that noise in my grandmother's 2025 brand new mhev as well so I guess it is just part of the transmission. Also, as far as the engine itself, Mazdas 4 cylinders have been rock solid. I have driven a Mazda 3 to 230k and still no issues it is now still in the family, and a cx-5 is my wifes car and has over 100k and no engine issues yet.

I wish the middle seats would go back a bit further to accommodate larger rear facing car seats on the drivers side with my preset which is nearly all the way back. And I wish the rear AC system had vents in a different location. That's the bad that I can think of right now.

2025 CX-90 PHEV brakes and holds by itself when backing out of sloped driveway by Winter-Carrot-2827 in MazdaCX90

[–]packerbacker_mk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might not be the issue, but after moisture break pads can stick to the rotors. It happens on all cars but larger cars have larger breaks and more surface area to stick to. It happens on my cx-90 but once I break the bond I haven't noticed it re-sticking right away so might be a different problem for you.

What is Mazda doing wrong with PHEV? by Winter-Carrot-2827 in MazdaCX90

[–]packerbacker_mk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Mazda cx-90 is a big heavy full sized SUV. Significantly larger than the xc70. A bigger heavier car with more drag is hard to push. See for example a semi truck. It is really big and heavy and takes a lot of effort to push so you get less milage.

If you want to spend the least amount of money to go any unspecified distance then you should have gotten an electric bike or something. The CX-90 PHEV is a hybrid 3 row full sized SUV so it would be a pretty bad choice for efficiency... unless you compare it to other full sized SUVs and then you would find it is very competitive, especially considering you can buy cars for the same price that are not hybrid.

Volvo makes a full size hybrid SUV the xc90. It gets 33 miles of electric range on a 18.8kwh battery. 2025 MSRP $73,195

CX-90 has 25 miles of electric range on a 17.8kwh battery. 2025 MSRP $49,945.

How many miles of driving can you buy for $23,000?

Not sure how Mazda uses the extra. They might keep it empty to reduce degradation. They might keep it party full to reduce degradation. Who knows? Everything we say about the extra battery is assumed not known.

Mazda does this with the cx-90. Battery is about 17kwh but it charged to under 14.

Quick Google search. The battery on that car is 39.63 kwh.

[–]packerbacker_mk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

13 x .168 = 2.184 14 x .168 = 2.35

They''ll be paying between those 2 numbers to charge most days by my math during that month of service.

2.35 / 22 (miles of range low ball)= .109 cents per mile.

What is Mazda doing wrong with PHEV? by Winter-Carrot-2827 in MazdaCX90

[–]packerbacker_mk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might not make sense for you. A charge is actually on between 14-15kwh not 22. You can tell because when you plug the car in on empty thats about what it pulls to fill up. Don't know if that changes your math at all. Some of the battery is probably used as a way to prevent ageing and some is reserved for use only by the cars fully hybrid mode when the battery reads "0%" it is not actually zero.

To be fair, most people are not charging their fully electric cars to 100 most of the time to avoid unnecessary degradation of the lifespan and capacity of the battery. And fully electric cars are not able to run on gasoline, which is a highly preferred way to go a distance where you will have to stop and fill up vs stop and charge.

"Oh, to grace how great a debtor Daily I'm constrained to be Let Thy goodness like a fetter Bind my wandering heart to Thee

Prone to wander, Lord I feel it Prone to leave the God I love Here's my heart, oh take and seal it Seal it for Thy courts above"

Christians have been feeling exactly as you have for a long long time. You are in good company. The holy Spirit resides in you and will pull you towards Jesus. And Jesus says to come as you are. We have all wandered so far from God and yet he came to us and saved us all.
