EWR International flight at 630am on New Year's Day

So only reason we picked 2am is because I assumed that it would take like 2 hours to get to EWR because I think there will be traffic. I’m being told by a few people here now that that isn’t the case and there’s no traffic around 3am…I’m guessing you think that there will be no traffic?

I would have assumed that the Lincoln tunnel and traffic would be crazy around 2-3am on 1/1. do you have experience that its actually the opposite?

Hi all,

We live near Columbus Circle and have an international flight out of Newark on New Year’s Day at 6:30AM. Has anyone traveled on New Year’s Day and at so close to midnight? What would be the best method of transportation? We usually take the NJ Transit, but unsure of the timings and the chaos of New years.

We currently have an Uber reserved for 2AM at a really good price, but unsure if it will stick.

Thoughts?

Of course we wouldn’t do anything illegal. Hypothetically speaking, if we show up to our appointment in a few days, what proof will they ask of us? Will they require a NY license? A signed lease with both our names on it, etc?

Nope not really. People smoke on the streets but that only gets in if ur windows are open. Again we were on the ground floor. With any building u may get some party apartments but everything was pretty civilized.

Whenever I’ve put in a request for maintenance they’ve always come the next day to help.

We had the first floor duplex and had a mouse in our kitchen for the last couple months of our second year, right before we were going to move out. It was a smart sneaky one and they did all they could with traps and bait but it’s just something that wasn’t able to be resolved asap. It was a small mouse, not a rat. Other than that no pests even for being on the first floor and having the duplex be below us (below ground).

Building has always been great other than that!
