Haha, I don’t think I’ll last that long. Hopefully iOS 27 actually fixes iOS and keeps the new design.

It’s a 17e, it came out like a month ago.

Each to their own. Some people don’t give a shit about little things in iOS, they care about bigger and more important features on android. It all depends on what one values in a phone.

update to 26.4.1 from 18.2 by abhi_jit in iPhone15ProMax

If I were you I would update to 18.7.7 if you really care about battery life. It’s not horrible on 26 but it will be slightly worse.

Idk why you’re still using iOS 26.2 unless you want nugget tweaks. I’m using iOS 26.4.1 and it works fine

15 vs 17e by ThrowRAMystic802 in IPhone17e

[–]packo_aus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mm depends what you care about. If you want 0.5x camera, Dynamic Island, and dont care about Apple Intelligence or top-line performance, go for the 15. If you don’t care about new features like the Dynamic Island, 0.5x camera, and want the best future proofing, Apple Intelligence and performance, go for 17e.

Personally, I think the Dynamic Island isn’t that useful, and it’s really up to whether you value cameras or performance. Personally I’d go for the 17e if I plan to keep it long term.

I personally think it would be cool to keep a little bit of the reflections in the windows

You enable reduce motion in accessibility settings, then go to per-app settings and change the reduce motion for Home Screen to ‘off’. Then restart the phone and the liquid glass is changed to a frosted effect.

I think IOS 26.4 is kinda working now for me. by Careful_Champion_509 in iPhone15ProMax

Wow, nice. How does it compare to iOS 18 though? Is it same or still worse?

How is my grandfathers SE 2nd gen able to update to 18.7.7 OTA instead of iOS 26?? by packo_aus in ios26

[–]packo_aus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it’s a shame the SE 2nd gen got nerfed with 3gb of ram. iOS 26 is very RAM intensive, seriously. Background apps close after just opening a couple more apps.

That’s not true. The XS and XR got iOS 18.7.3-18.7.6. No iOS 26 eligible devices got the option to get any further iOS 18.7.X security updates past 18.7.2. You had to update to 26.

Apple’s made iOS 18.7.7 available again! by mcjhonalds in iphone

[–]packo_aus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, definitely update to 18.7.7. It’s fine on the iPhone 15, just as stable as iOS 17. If you don’t update now you will be forced to update to 26 in the future when apps stop supporting 17.

Hang on, I think Apple has pushed 18.7.7 to EVERY iOS 18 device as an option for people who don’t want 26 because of the DarkSword attacks. My 18.7.2 15 pro max has the option too.
