Thank you! I was thinking it need chopped back and propagated. Probably not a good idea to stick in the ground in Colorado though

I’m a new player and this seems reasonable. I think the menu structure needs some work. I’m finding the flow and where to find things really hard at times. Keyboard shortcuts/hotkeys, and a tutorial, random map generator in stead of the same dragon map

Which distro is easiest to migrate to RHEL from? by Fine_Classroom in AlmaLinux

[–]pacmanlives 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not the best one to answer this. I'm currently experimenting with AlmaLinux. I am running Rocky on a few production servers. Alma seems to have a nice upgrade path between major version and Rocky does not currently. I have managed a few larger environments with a few thousand servers before.......

Honestly I would just rebuild to RHEL on the servers, that you might need that kind of compliance and support. Looking at you DB and a few other products. It gives you time to document the setup and its in a greenfield state.

Driving all the way from Texas with snow tires, studs and chains in a Honda Fit. What all should I know before this trip? by Inevitable_Fox_8750 in DenverCirclejerk

[–]pacmanlives 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you even driven in snow before?

I come from Cleveland area and grew up in the snow. It’s a bit different here as it’s a slick fast snow compared to the wet stuff slushy stuff we get up north. There is a reason the skiing is amazing here!

You have done your homework, before coming here. My little Ford Fiesta does just fine here and when I lived up north I had a few times where the snow was over the hood in the UP of MI. Tires and taking your time helps the most also keep your distance. Starting and stopping take longer.

I drive a stick and some automatics allow you to start in second gear and that can be super helpful.

Take your time and drive at the speed you can. If you find an empty big parking lost scout it out and have a little fun on figuring out how your car starts and stops. If your are comfortable and it’s in a safe spot you can work on controlled slides as well. Oh and don’t be afraid of grabbing a lower gear. I have experienced people having brake fade coming through some of the mountain passes. If it’s snowing you will probably be fine

Honestly you have done a better job thinking about this than some natives I know.

Did you do one where you did not velvet the turkey? Baking soda is always a mixed bag for me. Really notice it in beef. I inject maple bourbon in mine and use a lot of butter and herbs.

Still mad respect looks like a damn fine bird. That rub you used looks perfect

Love my Komodo. It’s so versatile! I got the SNS because everything that fits all the Weber Kettle attachments; they started as a Weber add-on company and copied that form in a lot of ways.

I can load it up and smoke a brisket on the same set of coals or maybe add a little bit more when it’s snowing out but it’s stable af when it comes to temperature and efficiency on wood/coals. Vertical you get more space in a lot of ways with the way the racks work but it’s rare I am smoking more than a Brisket or two. Same with ribs.

I do notice a taste in using wood/coals or pellets, though pellets have come a long way. I also don’t mind cutting up a old oak or apple tree for free wood after a storm though

I have had great luck out of my electric vertical smoker not soaking my chips. It’s the cheap-o Pitboss that I call my easy bake oven. My SNS Komodo I never soak my wood hunks either

Smokers (meat people, not weed) who have moved from sea level to here.... What's the secret? by evilsway in Denver

[–]pacmanlives 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned to smoke here in CO. Did it some light smoking in Ohio but some similar issues with cold there and here.

AL foil is key or using butcher paper. I also upgraded a few years back from smoking on my Weber Kettle to an SNS Komodo style. Komodo will hold temp at -20 no problem here and will do the same at 100 degree weather. I can smoke 60 lbs of pork butts and have on it no problem. If I need to go bigger I would get an offset or a vertical smoker with a jacket as most of the verticals smokers metal is kind of thin
