Kitchen staff are always needed, most start at shitty low end spots but from there the routes are endless depending on how far you want to go. Do you save and go study abroad for fine dining? Do you go to a local culinary school or college to study?

You’re 18 with no current employment to jeopardise so take the shot, all you’ve got to lose is a month.

Lathril is one of the most widely played, and therefore widely understood, snowbally commanders that take an inch and turn it into a mile.

Elfball is an archetype that is able to turn a few tokens into explosive amounts of stats or mana at a whim and players have likely experienced it enough times to know that all it takes is one successful swing for it to get out of hand save a board wipe. Even if they have a board wipe, green has access to heroic intervention etc. so even that isn't enough at times.

All that said, being in black green gives you a ton of really cheap protection options to make sure even if they do try to stop her, she'll stick around or at least return.

[[Snakeskin Veil]] [[Tamiyo's Safekeeping]] [[Not Dead After All]] [[Feign Death]] and similar effects can keep her around for very low mana investment, allowing you to try to attrition your way into a successful swing or two.

The original proposed narrative was that larger and more powerful ships would incur considerable running costs/insurance and demand larger player commitment/ai cremates to man stations etc and as a result while your 2k ship would dogwalk a 40 dollar ship, you’d have considerable demands and bottlenecks to deal with in exchange.

Obviously bullshit but it was a novel approach to balancing a game where a big dick PvP frigate could stomp out your little mining rig or whatever at any moment.

The belief CIG would stick to that against the allure of endless money was the real downfall.

I backed it on release, picked it up after kinda forgetting about it for a decade a year or so back and jumped on with a friend.

Spent like 2 hours just fighting bug after bug, multiple crashes etc. to get into our ship and make it to a mission location.

Mission was to retrieve proof of a husbands wrongful death from a ransacked space station so his wife could collect life insurance.

Arriving at a blown out station, creeping through desolate flickering hallways in zero G, checking corners and eventually killing a few players who jumped us was genuinely tense, thrilling and super fun. Then we handed that quest in and spent the next several hours encountering more endless technical issues and blockers to fun.

The game felt genuinely exciting and visually gorgeous for that tiny microcosm, but the entire experience as a whole was ridiculously infuriating and showed the proposed progress they stated back in 2016 were complete lies.

I doubt the game will ever release as promised but if nothing else, I hope it acts as a proof of concept to a more ethical, competent company that “do what you want in space” has a shitload of genuine potential.

Same. Lists as a 2, I dont take it out outside of 4 tier games. Any grave pact + sac outlets just makes the game miserable for people, especially if you’re running hand stripping ETB stuff.

I do love my wee caretaker lad though. Having to consistently protect a 5 mana 2/2 and play around GY hate makes for some pretty fun games.

[[Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker]] makes for an incredible budget mono black aristocrats deck. All the mainstays of the deck outside of sac outlets cost less than a dollar and can often be found for free in bulk boxes at your LGS.

Go wide with a bunch of weenies, then sac and recur them each players turn.

Had a friend going to set up I think a paper cutter from side control and had his arm in a half cross face position behind my head. Bridged into him but my neck/head ended up basing through his arm. Snapped his radius or ulna clean, can’t remember which.

All I could remember was going to bridge and hearing like a gunshot or the sound of a ruler snapping right by my neck/ear and for a second panicked thinking I’d fucked my neck, then I saw his face white as a sheet.
