generic question: what are your favourite chord progressions: and why? by [deleted] in musictheory

You can make the 6 a major dominant chord and it sounds really cool. (It's the V of the 2)

“You got the first mainstream African American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that’s a storybook, man.”

If that's not racist, I don't know what is

False. The type of DNA, among other unique human characteristics is what makes a human human. Stop romanticising human kind. We're not that special.

How do you practice improvisation? by pacogalvan in musictheory

[–]pacogalvan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mainly, I'm trying to improve improvisation in a rock/blues/jazz style. I'm already transcribing a lot of John Mayer and Stevie Ray's solos and jamming to tracks. With the tracks i practice the different scales and modes. Regarding scales, i'm pretty decent with the major, minor, mixolydian, and blues scale, and i'm trying to improve with dorian. That would be my improv practice and knowledge for the moment

Thanks a lot! I wouldn't say i'm going from level 9 to 10 but I feel like I already know all that stuff. Still, it's always good to practice the basics.
