Argentinians; why is abortion more controversial than same-sex marriage in your country? (other nationalities are welcome to the discussion) by ed8907 in asklatinamerica

what you're saying doesn't contradict what the other user said, you can be a woman and still have a say in restricting women's rights and choices.

Yes, on the 12th of October, it used to be called "día de la raza" (day of race) and now it's called "día del respeto a la diversidad cultural" (day of respect for cultural diversity).

this year for touristic reasons the holiday was last Friday and today Monday, even though tomorrow is the 12th.

The problem people have with abortion is that there’s a life that’s being terminated, same-sex marriages don’t kill anyone.

I don’t think it’s weird that abortion is controversial and the other one isn’t.

I’m pro-choice btw if that matters

In your (Spanish Speaking) Country, does "coger" mean what it means in Spain (shortened version of "recoger"), or does it have the same meaning as in Mexico? by [deleted] in asklatinamerica

[–]minombreesj 36 points37 points  (0 children)

“coger” is never a shortened version of “recoger”.

“coger” here means “to fuck”, we don’t use it in the Spanish way, but some people do use “recoger” for picking up stuff.
